    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

Ok, so I finished the drudgery of price checking (using starcity games). These are the cards that jumped out as over priced: Memnarch: At $8.25, I am going to have to cut him from the official list. Commander staple or something? Chromatic Star: Originally, I was going to run 7 of these...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

A while back I tried a U/W treasure cruise build in pauper that ran jeskai student as a way to convert cruise into onboard tempo. It was pretty terrible. 1 power, 2 mana, and no haste was a pretty crippling combination, so I am pretty wary of Jeskai Sage. Haha yeah, the spirit thing was a...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

The prowess cards I have on my radar are jeskai windscout and dragon bell monk. The monk is more likely to happen due to space restrictions in blue. We are at 360 now, and I finished the multi-color section. I did something here that I haven't done before, and basically just used the...

    General Cockatrice cube draft?

Yeah, mindshrieker is really good, and you can pull off some pretty insane plays with him and the TOL tutors. It's been by far my favorite use for it that betrays.

    General Cockatrice cube draft?

wow this is awesome. Eric that deck is insane. I really like that humans deck too, though the pod seems a bit out of place? Don't feel too bad about that GB deck. I've drafted decks like that before. They tend to be reasonable, but a bit underpowered, and win by really small margins...

    General Cockatrice cube draft?

I'm going to be drafting the physical version of the cube so (ironically) won't be there. Good luck to everyone though.

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

I actually did consider train of thought, but ending up cutting it. There are actually a ton of cool cards you can run with the storm theme, that arn't storm cards. A bunch of the multi-kicker cards could potentially make the cut, but didn't due to not quite being strong enough on their own...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

I would be ok with running 6 stars rather than a 3 star 3 sphere split. I was running sphere to keep things diverse, but it might be correct to just run 6 stars. I also cut pressure point in favor of a second auriok salvagers. Point seems like a solid card, but thats about it. Auriok...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

hmmm...I did not know that card existed. Does it get played for the effect or for the color changing ability? I'm currently 9 cards away in the multi-color section from having a completed 360, but not really sure what to run. I added some artifact sac. effects into the af section to round...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

I had sort of a vague idea that there would be overlap, but I didn't anticipate the degree that it ties things together. I just like aggro decks that have a lot of play to them, and this isn't that dissimilar to the grow approach I already use with champion. I've also been watching Tom Ross...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

Yeah, its awesome the way the spells matter theme synergize so well with the heroic theme. The other great thing is that it makes storm so much less narrow, since you can cut clunky storm pieces like grapeshot, and replace them with more well-rounded cards like young pyromancer. I'm not sure...

    Innistrad Themed Cube: 360 Unpowered

Hey, its good to see you. As always, its nice to see you taking things in a different direction. However, I think there are probably some stronger choices if you want to go with a warrior sub-theme. Overall, I think woe-reaper is a solid choice, while the manic vandal and tattermunge maniac...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

Thanks for the heads up; I cut it for a trusty machete. I'm guessing behemoth sledge is too much as well? I could just run a second unflinching courage.

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

Feeling really positive right now about the project. Added in some heroic guys for U/W, and that seems to work really well, tying together spells matter, combat tricks, and the + + counter theme. Really cool with the outlast guys. Added a really compact graveyard theme in the BUG colors, based...

    W. B. Rug's Wall Emporium

I don't know if this helps provide some perspective, but I run a tension between blockers and attackers as well. I think the easiest way to express the idea is with these three cards: armored skaab stromkirk noble act of treason If turn one noble is on the play (and faces no disruption)...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

I want to move onto the second draft, so I went through and trimmed cards that I thought I were questionable, or perhaps too narrow (with the possible exception of myr enforcer, which I want to see some more under draft conditions). Thank you to everyone that drafted a deck and provided...

    General Cockatrice cube draft?

I've never used cockatrice before, so I'm not sure how this would all work; but please do the scuttlemutt cube at some point. I have wanted to try drafting that since I first saw it on the forums. If you guys do my cube, I would suggest a couple practice drafts on cubetutor, to at least...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

Yeah, I've been feeding in some more generically applicable cards. Took out the frogmites as there is no reason really to run those when you can run legionnaires, vault skirges, and master's call in their place. Thoughtcast also came out for a courier's capsule. Took out the carapace forger as...

    The Penny Pincher Cube (360)

Yeah, I feel like breaking singleton, while generally better, carries with it its own costs: 1. You don't have to be dig as deep in your card searches, and might miss something great 2. Their is some risk, I think, of the format becoming too convergent. Breaking singleton can reduce the...
