General Introducing the Cube Map – find out how your cube fits within the Cube Universe!

Totally understandable! We seem to be having plenty of fun assigning our own labels (and backstories!) to various areas of the map anyways

Now this is the sort of world building I can get behind.

General Introducing the Cube Map – find out how your cube fits within the Cube Universe!

so Far RTL seems to mostly occupy the southern coast of the main continent. Classic powered cubes like wtwlf123's occupy the northwestern reaches of the same continent.

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

Cipher doesn't need the new "or copy" wording because you are casting the spell again anyways. If anything cipher gets more confusing with the new wording (am I triggering when I create the copy and again when I cast it? Or just when I cast it?). Cipher (Then you may exile this spell card...

yeah, this is sweet! If there was some legend overlay of what some of these "masses" are, that would be awesome.

Like have the Biovisionary Ability tacked on but are otherwise themselves, or are literally the 1UG creature named Biovisionary?

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

They don't use that 'or copy' vernacular on the myriad other cards that reference instants or sorceries, so I'm not so sure it's just for rules confusion. It could be a new mechanic that involves copying of a spell in a less direct way than replicate or storm, but see no reason why it can't be...

As far as I know the definition, you DO have permadeath in most roguelites, you just carry over something, like a piece of gear, or an ability, etc. Rogue Legacy is first that comes to mind. Diablo doesn't really have prcedural generation that changes after death, it doesn't start you back at...

Is that just an instant kill when you target yourself?

Diablo and Path of Exile don't start you over from scratch when you die do they (except in hardcore mode)? They have checkpoints, automatic saving (still a 'save button' in a sense), etc. They don't really fall into the rogue-lite category at all IMO.

I just wish more run-based games weren't so unforgiving, tbh. Am I really going to be able to stay interested in this game I'm trying out if I keep losing in the "introduction" level because I haven't reached a proper level of mastery apparently? I get tired of swinging around "rusty knife" as a...

    General [STX] Strixhaven Spoilers

Ugin is not physically on Zendikar during worldwake, and the Eye of Ugin is just a hedron (made by Nahiri, not Ugin). But the ghostfire magic is special to him. Chandra only knows of it because she stole a scroll describing it's usage from Kephalai. Unless Strixhaven is on Kephalai, I don't see...

    General The Sets of 2021

I haven't bought packs of cards in a looong time. It's cost inefficient in the extreme, for one thing. Similarly don't feel the need to pay for DnD books, when there are people that already have them that will lend, and there are online resources that are free.

    General The Sets of 2021

I guess ranger's feel more suited to a role-playing style of campaign for me. Their abilities tie into things that aren't necessarily combat. I've never played a fighter, but it seems like a character without anything fun to do besides use weapons a lot. Totally subjective on my part, but I can...

    General The Sets of 2021

are all of the above points based on pre-con instances japahn? The "6 combats a day" thing is news to me. I've seen plenty of DMs roleplay through days way more than that. I'm also having perfectly good luck with a ranger so far, do they drop off at higher levels or something? Or does this have...

I can see it in an artifact-based cube where you only want colors occasionally for supporting spells or activated abilities. I know you want to make these particular lands work, but this idea would probably pan out better with the Vivid cycle.

    General Fight Club

Grapple is better in almost all scenarios because it can bring back pre-existing cards. If you need quantity over quality there are already dedicated and better options like Loam. Agree with Chris that double grapple is probably a good choice for cubes that already really want the first grapple...
