General Revisiting Aristocrat Environments: Things that don't mind dying

It can go in powered cubes if you support the infinite combos with Karmic Guide, but even then not an A-grade combo compared to many that are in powered lists.

    General Mana sinks

Are you considering flashback spells and similar in the general category of mana sinks? I've found, at least in my GY themed environments, that flashback, self-reanimation, etc. often supplant the need for "traditional" mana sinks a la jade mage. There ends up being limited opportunity to fiddle...

    General Curved Foil Cards

We can see them by clicking on the picture titles. It opens them in a separate window. Obviously would be more streamlined to see them built into the post, but they are still viewable. I appreciated the little pyramid of curved cards.

    General Brainstorming: 2 Player Cubes

if we are trying to balance it within the mtg power band, probably never worth it in a vacuum. If you don't mind going off the deep end a bit, probably +10 life? Even then it just buys a bit of time since it's a one shot effect rather than a repeatable one. A 1CMC sorcery removal spell will...

General Revisiting Aristocrat Environments: Things that don't mind dying

Reveillark is very good. The power play is of course with karmic guide, which I ran together with the 'lark in my previous cube. Currently deciding if I'm going to go with that again. Looking at my cubecobra analysis, 118 creatures have power 2 or less, the lions share of all creatures for...

I also see this behavior. I only see the option to delete the picture. I do see the name of the picture, however.

Second Onder in saying that Shamizy covered a lot of ground! One thing I thought of: opinions/thoughts on the best ways to select multicilor cards for a guild archetype.

White has a lot of options, but so many fall just short of being useful in a cube setting, either by being too focused on GY hate (rest in peace etc), or just a little under curve. White also has the most widespread pre-GY hate (exile effects, bottom of library effects, etc) This is an option...

    General The Duplicate Voucher System

Yeah, I don't find CoCo that interesting compared to pod, and you definitely don't need to double up for it to be value. CoCo was really fun when I played it in modern, but pod would be much higher on my list to get tokened. In my list, I would go for eldritch evolution over CoCo (because I...

    General Timespiral Remastered Timeshifts

The old multicolored border just hurts my eyes. Agree on the Hedron Archive. That's a well received card in my (previous) cube.

    General The Duplicate Voucher System

I would almost think you could have separate, but fewer, tokens for multicolored cards, as the multicolored cards are making it into fewer decks overall, and wheeling those tokens would probably be a tad easier.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

That's still not much of a blowout unless your three drop is extremely overpowered. And they were liable to have cast a 1 and/or 3 drop besides their 2 and 4 drop. In the average game it would take some planning to come out far ahead on using Extinction Event.

    Sigh, again?

{G}{B} Recursive Rock Now this is a color pair I love digging into, no pun intended. GB recursive decks have captured my imagination for years across several formats, and are one of the largest inspirations behind building out a GY-themed cube in the first place. Gameplan: In basic terms, fill...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I think it's cool. Being able to wipe tokens completely is a nice feature IMO, and it offers a little puzzle for trying to maximize it's value. It's really tricky for it to be more of a blowout than, say, damnation, so I don't think that's a major concern, but I suppose it could happen every now...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Hard to directly compare, as they operate quite differently (besides being in different colors). Feldon is certainly more flexible throughout a game, as each turn you get to pick the best option for the current situation, but you don't get to keep that creature because it sacs at EOT. Really...

    General Fight Club

Yeah, that is one way to look at it, but am I going to feel happy that I brought the 3/3 Solemn Recruit back to a 2/2 instead of actually dealing with it? Not super much. Obviously still some effect, but I'm not sure I'd waste the card on doing it, unless I had no other choice. I'd probably...
