Your reference to the TitI synergy is what inspired me :). I also like conditional removal, I just don't want it to be too conditional. I worry that Heartless Act is a little too randomly conditional compared to the very clear boundaries of the other two or of something like doom blade. That...

    General Brainstorming: 2 Player Cubes

People call lifegain bad, but then complain about these cards raising hell for certain decks ;) loxodon warhammer shadowspear kitchen finks etc etc etc. I would probably agree with the masses regarding cards that only gain life, except in very specific circumstances, but when built into the...

    Jason Waddell's Cube

in all the time I had Thing in the Ice in my cube, I saw it flip maybe twice? Basically a dud card late game, and tough to keep it alive long enough for any other part of the game. Definitely not the type of spells support I'm looking to include in my new iteration, but maybe it works out better...

I really enjoy this sentiment among commander players, especially when it gives a false sense of ease amongst my opponents when playing my monowhite Teshar deck that very commonly wipes the floor

Specific of those can be decent in cube environments, usually off an independently good body or other effect. I think these are good on their own merits and not overly tied to needing a constructed playstyle: Tithe Taker Thalia, guardian of thraben kinjalli's sunwing thalia, heretic cathar...

Big fan of the combustible gearhulk. If we aren't sticking strictly to ETB creatures, magmatic force seems like a sweet reanimation target, and it manages to get at least one trigger off even if they have sorcery speed removal.

    Sigh, again?

I will be running fetchlands, yes, but I think only 10 or 15 total, maybe up to 20-ish with evolving wilds type cards. Not a double cycle of "true" fetches is what I'm getting at. I think at least Harrow can make an appearance, as it is quite decent as an instant that brings the lands in...

Thank you for the reference pic. I suppose a "classic" card holding style. I hold mine more vertically oriented, which I am guessing is made easier by my southpaw grip :). My hand comes in basically straight from the left side (please excuse my abysmal artistic efforts).

I would probably agree that looting is more broadly useful. If you have a situation where the pyroclasm is extra useful however, frostpyre does have quite the powerful effect. An easy example is if there is a token deck in the cube that a slower URx archetype has to face off against.

How are you fanning your hand? Unless I'm holding a monstrous number of cards, I can see both some of the name and the mana cost when I look at my hand. I can certainly fan it to see just mana costs if I don't care about names. I am left-handed, so that might be playing into it a bit.

If splashablity is a desired trait, the lighthouse is more splashable than the Frostpyre, at least into blue. What decks are you hoping to see use these or splash for these? Both have decent effects, but they are quite different in nature from each other. The frostpyre, for instance, is not...

    Sigh, again?

A landfall/counter beatdown deck does seem like a good fusion of themes. Fearless Fledgling might be the Luminarch Aspirant that my format actually wants. I like the juxaposition of it as an uncommon vs. the rare vinelasher kudzu lol. Gavony Township is a little game-warping in my...

    Sigh, again?

{W}{G} Land-ramp... or maybe +1/+1 counter beatdown? I am currently conflicted here somewhat, as I have two paths that both look pretty attractive. Now maybe in the end when I get to the flushing-out-stage both will fit. I expect sub-themes and secondary decks to pop up as I expand from "one...

In a proper GY deck, a good fraction of the deck will be targets for sending to the grave, whether it's flashback spells, reanimation targets, reanimation spells themselves, powerful self-recursive creatures, possibly a target for spell recursion or just fuel for other cool cards. And a card...

The artist information, besides being more computer readable, is way more human readable too. The black bottom also helps the text box and P/T box stand out better. The text box is also ~10% bigger on the M15 frame, and they lightened the coloring inside the textboxes (again, increasing contrast...

I am strongly looking into Gravebreaker Lamia for my cube as a "fixed" final parting with bonus flashback synergy. Particularly awesome with Retrace! The Miser looks cool, but probably comes down too late to be able to properly fuel it.
