    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

For most environments I think something like renata, called to the hunt is going to be superior. Still works with things like haste, but doesn't rely on it, and has a usually non-anemic body. EDIT: How do we feel about this card? A crossover from GW counters into UG tempo, and synergizes with...

    General Timespiral Remastered Timeshifts

I'm a little confused about how only now the star is adding colors to the mtg color wheel? The old art has arguably more colors lol, and definitely has yellow, cyan, and indigo. And honestly, miss me with that CG glass. I like the painted star art a lot more.

    General Designer vs. Player

WotC is a huge fan of this design principle, usually called "lenticular design" by MaRo and others. Designs that are functional and simplistic to new players, but that get deeper and more complex as your knowledge increases.

General Revisiting Aristocrat Environments: Things that don't mind dying

I usually use karmic guide in my version of the combo, but body double works too. This is from the standard environment. In cube, you can replace mirror entity with any number of sac outlets, like goblin bombardment. One of the spiciest reveillark targets (in general, but specifically in the...

The lands enter tapped for Roiling Regrowth, which makes it substantially worse in most (but not all) cases.

I'm loving Brazen Borrower in testing so far. Such a good combination of effects in a non-overbearing presentation.

    General Brainstorming: 2 Player Cubes

Soul Warden triggers potentially many times over the course of the game. Assuming you have stuff that triggers off each life gain event, that raises it's stock significantly. And as mentioned, it can hold equipment, be buffed by anthems, etc.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Regrowth is already a widely desirable card, so I'm not sure the drafting tension will be that much higher with Recovery. Still a good thing either way. If there's a card with drafting tension, we offset with alternatives or density of effects. For instance, you might already have eternal...

    General Fight Club

I think Kytheon is better overall, but he is an extremely wordy and complicated DFC. If I was going to be running this sort of effect in my update, itd probably be the relatively clean cut Student

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Do many people besides fans have to read the words on magic cards? Not really, it's almost entirely fans. So how does "fan words" minimize the importance of acronyms sounding good? A phrase change is basically only impacting fans and the words they use. I've almost never heard a player say...

Is it an Aggressive deck? Because the Verge eats a lot of tempo outside of formats like EDH. comes in tapped, costs "3" mana to activate, lands ETB tapped. If that lost mana efficiency is ok for the deck, then it's definitely an option.

Mana value might sound better in word form, but to me CMC >>> MV when spoken as an acronym. CMC just flows so nicely.

Emeria Angel Maybe they get a little more respect these days, especially around here, but this angel is the platonic ideal of a white 4 drop IMO. Flier builds body count off of one body (helping fill whites gaping card advantage hole via a repeatable trigger effect) landfall synergies still in...
