    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Not a bad option! I still worry that it ends up being too impactful. I could always try it though! I just know that in games when I saw Titania wreck, the deck would've also really loved Tusker in its place because they were going really wide.

I haven't tried any of those. Beast attack is a little awkward because I do run Grizzly Fate so it seems a little overly redundant. Cage breakers is cool, but I don't want it to be a craterhoof in the format, so to speak. Could see the spider!

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Please feel free to still write up a new thread on the topic! It looks like a sweet Sultai archetype. Its effectively like what I'm aiming to do with Sultai, just more fleshed out. My anchor is still sidisi, brood tyrant.

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

skullmulcher So I'm having a pretty tough time figuring out what I wany to do with the slot that I'm opening up from Titania. This is a neat option I found in my searching. I like that it's got a conditionally relevant ETB effect in that you need to balance what you devour against your future...

The Penny Pincher Cube 2.0--Inventors' Fair

failure // comply I've seen this card crop up here and in a couple other lists recently, and I'm wondering what the impetus is for putting this card in over its counterpart unsubstantiate is? Is the bounce creature clause on unsub too efficient for this sort of list? The two card types on failure?

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

I don't really find them elsewhere, to be honest. I just poke around the cube blogs a lot, checking stuff out. I also visit some CTs directly that I know about, that I don't have a cube blog that I know of. Primary among these is probably Alfonzo's cube, which he does have linked in his sig. I...

    General Lets talk Cycling

Having a free spell just biding it's time until you have an opportunity to abuse it is very strong. I could see swapping out like so in my format lumbering falls -> simic growth chamber Cinder glade -> sheltered thicket To help support the RUG decks, and then needle spires -> inspiring vantage...

    General Lets talk Cycling

I do the one wildcard cycle, sort of built into my painland cycle. So I run the Canopy and the Grove just as you've mentioned. I'm also thinking of dipping into the manland/battleland cycle, likely with bicycle and bouncelands

Thanks :). In that case, the next lowest hanging fruit is a slightly higher powered card in that same CMC (different function though): honored hydra Man Amonkhet is great

So I've seen a lot of lists recently with this little lizard friend. Is this card the bees knees? What're people's experience with it? shefet monitor

    Sigh, a Cube

That is a very good suggestion! I have run the Bishop before and he was definitely a solid include. I could totally see makin that swap, thanks! :)

    Sigh, a Cube

Had a nice chat yesterday with my top drafter, and he confirmed lots of what I've been pondering recently. He summarized in thre succinct points: - board wipes are good - value can lose to pure power - tempo is still important I did not ask him what his definition of tempo is :P. The point I...

    Sigh, a Cube

One thing I'm thinking is that mebbe I can actually make a couple of cuts? Because I use Tenchester sometimes, I probably want to stick to 400 for 10 packs of 10, so that only means 5 cuts. Doesn't have much of an impact during normal drafting (about 1% different pool ratio), but it does mean...

Five Man Cube Draft - 06/04/17 Got a five-man draft together this afternoon, and it was fantastic. Got to see a lot of new cards in action, and got some nifty insights into how the cube format is interacting with itself. Couple interesting patterns that I might have to ponder over a little bit...

    General Noncreature Blue One Drops

Careful study is great! Strictly worse than Faithless Looting, but that's ok, because we are aiming to let red and green spells breathe more. I'm also still feeling out Serum Visions because it's one of the lower impact of the blue can trips, so it's more likely to still be fine. One {U}...

    Alphez's Cube, rebooted

Good set of initial updates! One of my major focuses in green has been finding ways to naturally generate and utilize lands as a hand resource, and the more generalist discard outlets are a great foundation. Cards like noose constrictor and Jaya benefit from a stream of extra lands to pitch but...

    Retro Combo Cube

I was thinking about that 2/1 last night. Was originally planning on swapping it in for diregraf ghoul, but then I was like "why"? I've already got Bloodsoaked and Gravecrawler, not to mention my two drops... no need to add word density to my drafting, the way I see it. I think there's a lot to...

    Sigh, a Cube

And have to say, I am exquisitely happy that my {R}{G} section is working as smoothly as it. The fact hat it can support both of the decks below, and they both look very competitive is a very positive sign for proper depth in that guild. I think my work on my Green section, and its suite of...
