    Sets Commander 2016 Spoilers

I like Ash Barrens a lot. For one, probably a good BLB candidate, especially for non-wastes solutions to {C}. But also just in general, wastes + lay of the land seems like a decent deal

Yeah, and for {B} you get flying and palace seige, which is like a good 5-6 additional mana worth of effect right there. Seems like a good middling power card overall. Probably not to be played in ultra cutthroat environments with lots of over efficient removal, but that applies to a lot of...

It anthems your board right away, which is already worth 4 mana for a 2/2 creature if Kongming has anything to say about it

I haven't found him to be a nearly as bad as that, partially because it's a repeatable punisher effect that will run the opponent into a lose-lose at some point. But I am convinced! Ravos is a much cleaner execution, and I like the art a lot also :).

Raves is a great way to give reach to WB creature strategies. The only struggle I'm having is him versus: athreos, God of passage

    Sets Commander 2016 Spoilers

I guess the issue is it forces UB control, among others, into very tight and limited windows of interaction. Sure, if you have the discard spell T1/2, sure if you leave mana open at the right time for a counter, sure if you draw Languish in time. But if you can't, you are operating at like 35%...

    Sets Commander 2016 Spoilers

I am very intrigued by the flail. Is the Abolisher effect too good against countermagic when it's on an equipment? This would be brutal against a control deck that leaned heavier Counters over Removal. I'll probably at least test this in place of Trusty Machete, maybe.

I think a little bit much in general. Turns an alpha strike into suicide, with no prior knowledge. Doesn't need to stick on the battlefield through combat to prevent the damage. Ridiculously efficient for white (let through Polukranos, flash in a 6/6, take no damage)

This is pretty crazy in cubes with multiple Brainstorms. Play her, next turn get to 8 mana? Seems fine. And great with looters. Interesting...

    General Too Many Lands

A great point. An interesting corollary is that formats like this don't magically stop wanting decks like this if fixing gets worse, especially if it happens suddenly. People will still try and build theor 2C+/3C decks, they just will miserably fail either during drafting or gameplay. People...

    Shamim's Cube

I think the painlands are a very elegant solution, but require the proper power level. Painlands proved themselves for the past while in standard (even in control decks), but again, power level appropriate. For the higher power level, the truly good cycle are the filterlands. Being able to fix...

Good point. He's a sweet engine with Executioner's Capsule, maybe even a little overbearing? Just clear the blocker out every turn, grind to victory

Yeah, I had the exact same thoughts about this card. I think infiltrator might be a little better? Hard to tell. Regardless, sweet for an artifact theme, if he passes muster.

    Shamim's Cube

Sweet write up! These are two of the archetypes I've been fiddling with myself. Basically reaching the same set of conclusions about {C} as you, and have been using my painland cycle as a sorta flex slot, and break the cycle as desired. How have the "lesser" eldrazi worked out for you? The...

    General Too Many Lands

I also like the Wilds manabase for this reason. I think the difference comes when the manabase is higher power, and focused on Confluence, Gemstone Mine, Ice Bridge, and so on. Find some incidental lifegain, or another solid way of combating aggro, and you're basically Scott free. Something...

    Sigh, a Cube

Thanks for the draft, and it looks like a super sweet deck, just like last one! :D I do worry slightly about if its a little too easy still for the Bx decks to come together... I think the BG deck, in particular, is very efficient both in construction and play. Moving forward, the brunt of my...

The souls are great. Gotta be at the right power level environment, but they basically all achieve what you are looking for. soul of shandalar soul of innistrad soul of ravnica These three in particular work very directly towards generating some form of (relatively efficient) card advantage, and...

    Sigh, a Cube

Aw shucks, hate when misclicks happen. Raven's Crime would have been a strong card for the deck. One of the not-yet-implemented upgrades would have been even better, in the form of Collective Brutality. I did implement the upgrades on CT just now, so feel free to try for a shiny new take 2 :)...

    Sigh, a Cube

Sweet deck! I don't think I've updated my CT yet to reflect my IRL cube >_>. But sweet deck nonetheless! :D Love the Titania interactions built into the deck, especially the cool "hidden" land sac in edge of autumn. One more discard outlet would have been super gas, but it's still a shining...

    General The Draft Exchange

Why in everything holy's name did he exclude Sideboards?? That would have added another couple hundred cards that support the decks they were meant for.... Restrictions in this case just breed bad design. (Let's not even talk about how much I dislike that phrase. There's a word missing: useful...
