    General The Draft Exchange

The only other conceivable way I can think of performing this rework would be to scrap some of the decks, and focus support for the remaining ones, generate cross-deck support, etc. Maybe that just is the same as the change Grillo explains, but I'd think there'd be an 'interesting' way to go...

Agree with this. She's obviously not a bad card, she just doesn't have a home or environment yet. I might trade for a couple after she bottoms out to hold onto for Amonkhet standard/whatever the block after that is standard. Too bad I didn't pick up a playset of the Torrential Gearhulks before...

I'm Going Gaga for Grid Drafting

Cool updates. Interesting about the Last Gasp switch. It's pretty feel-bad against wild beastmaster, who would give the attacking team -2/-2 at starting stats. Even with, say, bonesplitter, she turns what the attacker thought was safe into +0/+0, and can lead to blocking blowouts. Just a...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I ran the hydra for a while, and it was decent generic value. I eventually cut it, tho, when I realized that the card that finds cool cards could be a cool card. Think I swapped in something like Titania.

    Sigh, a Cube

Hey, thanks for the thoughts! :) Both blue swaps were a little tricky. The Crane is definitely under review right now, and could easily go back out. I really do want crush, but haven't quite figured out what I want my {U} top end to all be yet. Candles could be something else. First alternative...

    Sigh, a Cube

Fall Updates - 10/08/16 With Kaladesh out, it was only a matter of time until I got around to working some new stuff into my cube.My favorite thing about this round of updating is that I didn't really find many cards directly from the set to include, but I found a treasure trove of inspiration...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Yeah, basically what Grillo said. Ravager is probably fine in a cube with a heavy dosage of artifacts throughout, but I'm sitting around that 7-9% mark, so I need to be looking for artifacts that bolster the percentage without requiring the percentage. As another for instance, I've thought...

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Does the Ravager synergize with Welder et al.? That's what I'm in the market for. And to have it be "carefully thought out rocks and baubles". But it is a good card. Seems a little loose outside of artifact decks, though, and the Wellspring seems at least mediocre in random deck X. (I...

    General Too Many Lands

And that's almost exactly why I'm attracted to the thought of 16. One more card, and you can give so much more potential depth to the pack opener, by wheeling a card not once but twice. I tested out 10-packs-of-10 Tenchester a while back, and haven't looked back since. It's super great for...

    General Too Many Lands

There is a pretty major difference. Removing lands increases the spell count, but makes the mana base worse than it was before (less total fixing available per person). Adding spells and upping the cards per pack increases card access, but leaves the fixing per person intact

    Card/Deck Low Power Card Spotlight

Alright, so poking around a little, and seeing talk of Expedition Map, if the "welder" style artifact deck is a thing in an environment, what about: mycosynth wellspring?

Daretti is the most fun reanimator piece I've ever played with. The fact that it powers itself, and is at least decent without any synergies is awesome. You've gotta have signs for your archetypes, and Daretti is a beautiful one. I've been thinking about converting some lands into carefully...

    General CBS

http://magic.wizards.com/en/MTGO/articles/archive/magic-online/legacy-cube-cardlist Of note is that LSV was playing in a draft league, so there were multiple pods running in parallel and intermingling.

Yeah, he definitely has preconceived notions for cube environments, and it being busted power level is one of them.

    General CBS

Recently watched LSV's most recent videos of the Lagecy cube, and let me tell you, hearing him say multiple times that He was warming to the cube because "the games are great even though the power level is lower than normal" warmed my heart

    General Too Many Lands

The MTGO cubes run basically the same proportions of lands as here at RTL, about 46/360 once the draft pool is selected. Take out the 'utility' lands and its about 40/360 per pod. I think the only way to know how many lands are 'wasted' in any particular environment is to test and record data.

    General Too Many Lands

no, he wouldn't say that. He says right before the sentence "something like 5/5, 5/6, and 5 duals", "If you drafted cube and your mana base is 9/8, you did not draft a good deck, it cannot by good" followed shortly later by "It's just really important to have good mana." This implies that his...

    General Too Many Lands

Maybe my original post was a little incorrectly angled Picking an on color shock highly in later packs still makes them less picked overall than fetches, and thats an important part of the shock/fetch dynamic imo. It helps shocks wheel to the people who need them, especially with >1 of each...
