    The Magic Crumble Pie

Example deck spotlight II So, my cube features three 3 color cards in each shards, that reward you with a corresponding triland. This draft started off with a p1p1 Zur the Enchanter, immediately rewarding me with an Arcane Sanctum as well. After that I was looking for enchantments, which didn't...

    The Magic Crumble Pie

Example deck spotlight I The following deck happens to highlight two themes in my cube. One of the archetypes available in Temur is the Wildfire deck. Centered in red, I've added some 5+ toughness monsters in the shard that can, sometimes with a little help, survive the raging fires of the...

    The Magic Crumble Pie

I'm sorry I don't check this part of the forum more often, as it's typically where people can ask questions specific to their cube. Anyway, it's high time I put my current cube out here, since it's been a while since I abandoned ye olde Khans of Alara cube. Link Visual spoiler Curve Draft...

I agree. I have found myself adding more and more hand disruption to black over time. It really shapes up the color.

You mean Ranging Raptors? I've included a bit more fight cards in my cube, honestly I'm hoping for more good enrage cards in {r/g} next set! Anyway, the card is pretty satisfying. People are loathe to give you free mana ramp, so blocking it is quite agonizing. Where it really shines is in...

Gary has been decent even in my multicolor cube when I ran him. Mind you, this is a cube where (then even more so than now) drafting a monocolored deck is almost infeasible. Even there it was fairly trivial to make 8+ point life swings, and then do it again on a later turn because of recursion...

Obviously you're wrong there Salmo. If it was the easiest of passes we wouldn't have this discussion, let alone people already including it. I can respect that it's not something you are interested in, but for me this was an easy swap. Besides the evasion, which is relevant in my cube, since I...

I playtested with it some and have been happy with the Freebooter. It attacked in scenario's where Brain Maggot would have been useless, and has wielded a Bonesplitter a few times. I think the card is a good addition to the black two drop section.

Nezumi Graverobber is a card I've definitely liked. The only reason I cut it was to reduce the number of insular mechanics, as it was the only Kamigawa flip card I was running. That said, another flip card that I could see myself running happens to be a black two drop as well! Nezumi Shortfang...

Other than the cards already mentioned, I run Glint-Sleeve Siphoner, Scrapheap Scrounger, and Zulaport Cutthroat. I've really liked the Siphoner so far. Menace on a two drop in a color with access to lots of removal means it actually gets to draw cards fairly regularly. It swings equipment...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

Sandwurm Convergence This card has a similar vibe to me, but avoids the feel bad moments of getting it bounced and plays into green's ramp identity. It's certainly less of a puzzle card, and making 5/5s is not the same as dealing 5 directly, but I think it's the more playable end game enchantment.

So, I was playtesting the changes to my cube, and I don't know what happened, but I apparently C17 and Ixalan turned Naya from the most boring shard (to me) to a shard I bloody enjoy playing! Ones 1 Greenbelt Rampager 1 Burst Lightning 1 Curse of Opulence 1 Flame Jab Twos 1 Aether Chaser 1...

All my artifact ramp starts at three mana, whereas green gets the two mana ramp spells. So green decks, who also have access to artifact mana, will have both more ramp options and cheaper ones than nongreen decks. I do think ramp decks are cool, in particular the Wildfire ramp decks, and green...

Lol :) Personally I would cut green (if I was forced to cut a color). Ramp, if the format needs it, can be supported with artifacts, and pretty much all of the other things green does other colors can do. It's the color that easiest to replace I feel. In any case, it has to be either white or...

I think that's one of the biggest draws of cutting a color actually. Don't forget that your colors will be deeper as well (because you're freeing up room for the colors you're not cutting), so they can actually support more drafters.

Why not? I rearranged the color wheel in my cube (to WBURG), and only support the new allied guilds. I devoted 8 slots to each of the five guilds, excluding lands, at 450, so there's a little bit more of any given guild than in a cube with regular color distribution. Besides that the five shards...
