Yeah, Herald is an auto-include for my cube, which runs 16 gold cards per supported guild. I'm hoping for more goodies in the devoid department as well, especially in red and blue. The two monocolored devoid rares in those colors haven't been all that hot sadly.

The spell leaves the stack when it is returned to its owner's hand, so yeah, it's "countered". It's worth noting that it doesn't technically counter the spell though, so you can "counter" stuff like Obliterate with Brutal Expulsion.

No, it gets to Magma Spray instead. Not being able to damage players is quite a big deal. I love the card, but I don't think it's any better than Jilt, which has a more flexible mana cost, but can't Venser spells.

Meh, there's not much wrong with this archetype, but you could add in some more ways to control the graveyard, maybe cut the Survival of the Fittest, which sets up chains way easier than Evolutionary Leap.
