my black 4 drop of choice right now is a colorshifted Restoration Angel, but i would also consider Grief, Rankle, Ebondeath, and (i know it’s not a 4 drop but) Shriekmaw for this kind of slot. agree with others that swapping cards around during cube night is sucky.

I use Artificer on my phone to make the customs, and ordered from MakePlayingCards. there’s a process to it (prepping/sizing images for upload, selecting settings, optimizing price) i can explain in greater detail if you’re interested in making an order.

Haunt as a support piece for Cawblade style archetypes would be sweet tech for sure

i think the better your manabase is, the easier it is to justify wastes, all else in your environment staying equal. also, TBF, Stronghold and Drownyard are a fair bit stronger than Haunt.

if it had cycling, it would be WAY better than timeless dragon… as is, i think it’s somewhere between worse and equal depending on the format’s context.

this is very true. i’m still cagey on Ebondeath because 4 mana is a lot, but he might be worth testing as a mana sink for midrangey decks. just… ugh, 2 toughness on a 4 mana creature is ROUGH, you open yourself up to HUGE tempo loss if you’re not careful. and exile removal hurts even worse.

i am probably not gonna bother with Ebondeath (4 mana for 2 toughness?!?) but Grim Wanderer has me excited. i have a lot of 1 mana kill spells in BR that can activate his tragic backstory. also… an edgelord loner PC spoof is pure :pogchimp:

these are some good suggestions! i am looking at other garchomp options (there’s a few) and actually, Raichu Prime is a pet card of one of my drafters so that will be the one i run double of. i am going to let Rough Seas prove it’s oppressive before i cut it, i don’t run anything with 200+ HP...

i’m absolutely gonna test it, i really like all the silly nonsense in this set. my plan is to run a few of the best real Venture cards and flesh out my support for the archetype with customs. the “real” dungeons are fine as printed as long as there are good Venture cards, IMO.
