gave it a test drive on cc and it definitely looks fun! i went for a Bant pile (snappy, dragonsguard elite, some white stuff) splashing red for Omnath, but it’s very hard to fight CC bots for fixing, so i probably wouldn’t have ended up maindecking him.

that was a great series! this gives me words for the vague feelings i’ve had in my current cube that drove design principles like “no Thoughtseize” and “no infinite combo.” really good concepts to keep in mind during design and testing

with my cube not really having ramp targets anymore, i’ve switched green from “ramping” to “fixing” and it also cantrips or just straight draws pretty well and if you have all of the above going on, it becomes easy to fill the yard for stuff like

yeah at this point i think the jargon is actually “singleton” for cubes that follow that restriction, no term is needed for a cube that breaks it

yes EDIT: Tireless Tracker gets huge and draws cards with no further investment required other than playing lands and cracking Clues. Elder of Laurels doesn’t draw cards and requires repeated mana sinks to maintain hugeness

honestly my favorite value reanimator cards are still Diabolic Servitude Whip of Erebos

considering how winrates plummet in retail limited as soon as you take your first mulligan, i would hesitate to hand out vanguards randomly in most environments. having them in the draft OCCASIONALLY would be fun though
