{1}{B}, Sanguine Feeder, Creature - Vampire, 1/1 Whenever an opponent loses life, put a +1/+1 counter on Sanguine Feeder. (Damage causes loss of life)

The thing I'm trying to deal with is that the leap from 1cmc -> 2cmc massively reduces the playability of this effect, so I'd want to compensate for that somehow. My favorite landfall creature: Lotus Cobra Honorable mention: Scapeshift

How would that be worded? "You can play two lands this turn"?

{G}{B}, Emtombloam, Sorcery Search your library for a land card and put it into your graveyard. Then shuffle your library. Return up to two (three?) land cards from your graveyard to your hand.

Okay, this is fun. We should invent more mechanics.

:1::r:, Lark Lightning, Instant Lark Lightning does 1 damage to target creature or player. Landstorm. :r:, Rimpulse, Sorcery Exile the top card of your library. You may play that card until end of turn. Landstorm. Maybe that's dumb because you have to already play your land for the turn...

Landstorm is an interesting mechanic because the "base" value is calibrated to 2 (the original + one copy) but the card needs to be "not broken" at X = 3 or 4. :2::u: Landivination, Sorcery Draw a card. Landstorm.

Card/Deck Kill it with fire (let's talk removal)

This is an argument that I agree with more in a constructed setting than in cube. I like having variable-power burn spells that are prioritized differently. But I can see the argument.

I like the idea of uncracked fetches serving as protection in a way that isn't only Steppe Lynx dodges Pyroclasm.

{2}{B}, Drawback Demon, Flying, 5/3. Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, Drawback Demon gets -1/-1 until end of turn.

{G}, Crop Rotator, Elf Druid, 1/1 {T}, sacrifice a land: search your library for a (?basic) land card and put it onto the battlefield.

Landstorm - Copy this spell for each land that has entered the battlefield this turn.

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I'd like that trigger more if it happened when the creature was dealt damage.

To elaborate: 1) Strength misjudgments are only problematic so much as they cause problems. The people who make Starcraft are (mostly, if not entirely) not tournament-quality players, and the skill level of their population changes over time (as do the game mechanics, with constant iterative...

I think the smiley is kind of indicating that you're joking yet you say this kind of thing enough to make me think you believe it. To me it feels like a BS mantra and is incongruous with your other "good players here have terrible taste in cubes", which in turn feels like a way of trying to gain...

No way man, I can't suppress the feedback of my player side just to appease my designer side. I need to be in touch with that shit.

Drafting a cube (Mirage Rath) where I knew 3% of the cards has changed the way I view Magic. Other than the perverse joy of dumping on stupid cards, it was really tedious to try and make decisions and I didn't feel like I had any footholds to latch on to. Lack of rarity also didn't help...
