Every deck has ways to work around a 4/4 groundpounder but I imagine if you're drafting blue every time you might have a biased opinion.

General Riptidelab mostly-custom cube attempt #1

Let's be real here: you add more complexity by making changes to an existing card. I don't think it's super relevant to the discussion, but anybody who would play this would be familiar with normal Magic. Reprints give them a foothold. I expect 0 players to be like "why is there an enchantment...

Why can't we have a dude that's incidentally an enchantment creature?

Unlikely. Especially with Theros so fresh I'd want to go in a new direction.

    I don't know what you're asking.

I'd rather just run straight-up Courser, I think. Complexity will be a real concern for such a project.

Intersection between life loss and Storm: Phyrexian mana.

I also love Cascade and Domain. Can we do non-poisonous Storm cards?!?!?

Difference between zendikar is we can play with fetches more. Make Leonin Arbiter style effects. Care about life loss timing by putting Bloodthirst on spells to force players to care about life loss. Maybe you could have a trigger that says "if a player lost life this turn". Incidental top of...

General Fighting Disappointment: Lets fix some cards that were almost sweet

Yes, not tying up mana is a good thing for that kind of deck. See Barrage of Expendibles.

Then I'd probably make it an artifact. :p

I was thinking about this earlier. Like it's easy to get caught up in specific (do you want 2 Jittes or 0). There's the flavor aspect (there can be only one) that is violated entirely by the new legend rule, then there's the mechanical aspect. A card like Thalia would likely not make it into...

To be fair CML Goblin Guide is one of the most narrow aggro cards out there. Perhaps there's an article in this space.

Aggro decks pretty rarely come together in Sealed so I think it's reasonable. Like CML implied, it's not great in draft. The other option is to go in the direction of retail: most decks have a pretty similar curve, and playable card supply is limited.

General Do you like Tangle Wire games?

Crucible is an option. My cube is super unoptimized right now, mostly because so many things are in flux concurrently. I don't have anything I'm comfortable with "publishing" at the moment. Orb is out currently so no such combo exists.

I think Thrun is great design and I like the puzzle he forces players to solve. Everything should have answers, even removal.

Oh and we totally have polls but voiced discussions are more fun.

I was looking for a card to cut. I like Tangle Wire but don't view it as essential and wanted to put a nonaggro card in the slot for now. I'm sure it will be back someday.
