The Dandy Cube (Chris Taylor's Cube)

Oh, and one last comment: Relentless Persecution (Addle) - Maybe try the Oracle wording? http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=23030

Ah, yes, I will admit, when I wrote my original post I hadn't worked my way through all your (now non-existing) spoiler tags. But now I have gotten through all of them! I will start by saying that I really love your custom cards. Most of them feel great, and I would be super excited to draft...

I think it's time to write an article about how all the existing classification systems completely miss the point.

    General Brainstorming: Microdrafting

This is an open call for any narrow/sideboard cards you have loved over the years. Microdrafting will be a format of weird threats and sweet answers. Also narrow/situational threats are fine. Illusory Angel and its ilk. 15 card decks are small enough to play with rigid mechanical ties.

Yeah, that line happens. Another unique aspect of them is that if you let them ETB tapped, they can be Wastelanded.

You mean the shock fetchlands that I made up and mentioned in some article? Aggro and control love shock-fetches and real fetchlands. It's really just a personal preference thing. I use all real cards now, but given how adventurous you are that won't be an impediment. This is pretty firmly in...

New Cubist, can use direction! RTR Block Cube

Hey Zarepath, welcome to the forums! Designing a block cube is a great way to start, and as a general rule, your cube should be able to be at least as fun as real full-block drafting. Regarding your question of whether it will be too multicolored, I would say that there's no strict right or...

Pendrell's Cube (576 cards, powered, uses a test pool)

Hi Vince. I ran through a draft on TappedOut, but I think it was hard to get an accurate sense of how the cube plays out in practice. My draft had almost no fixing Pack 1, and I got sucked into a mono-color deck. You mentioned that you seed in guild cards at a higher proportion in your opening...

Okay, let me say that I love your custom cards. Really. How did you get such great art for all of these? And custom flavor text too? I'm sold. That said, I keep coming back here to look at them, and having to pop open the spoiler tags is really annoying. Maybe I am in the minority, but I'm...

    CML's Cube (405, polychromatic)

Maybe you could go into some of the thinking behind these cuts? The strangest one to me is taking out Boros Charm for Lightning Angel. Boros Charm is a lot of fun to play with, and is much more likely to make a deck. However, I'm certainly not of the opinion that cube should have no three color...

    CML's Cube (405, polychromatic)

Drink spillage is the #1 cube hazard. Before I cut manlands and filterlands from my cube, I used a bit of a grab bag for the extra fixers that was pretty fun. I liked playing with the really random lands like: etc. These are all fun in their own ways, and you feel awesome when you fetch Bosk...

    RipLab Marketing

I had talked with another cube writer a while back, and his vision was to create a front page as well, with user submitted articles and other things (blog entries, etc.). I know Wordpress is out there as a pretty easy way to set up such a page. Is this something other people are interested in...

    Other Games

Thanks for the suggestions Peter. I never really gave Ascension a fair shot, something about its packaging / theme just turned me off to the whole thing. I had never even heard of Thunderstone, but I'll be sure to give it a look. I also like that you can just say "Blue Shell" as a mechanic and...

Also, in case it wasn't obvious, you can click on a tag and the forum will load all threads with that tag. So if you want to see all the "SCD/Deck" threads or whatever, just click on the tag and everything loads in an instant.

    Posting cube lists

Perhaps the best way to generate discussion and feedback on your cube is to ask specific questions about design issues or choices you are dealing with. It's a lot of work to process somebody's entire list and give useful feedback, but if you break it down into bite-sized chunks people can weigh...

Out of curiosity, how did you arrive at 576 as your number?

The Dandy Cube (Chris Taylor's Cube)

I don't know if these forums actually support spoiler tags. But there is a limit of 20 images per post, so keep that in mind. If that's a problem let me know, I think I can change it. I really like your custom cards, and you've put a lot of effort into getting the look of the cards to be very...

ChannelFireball has a not very well known site for buying cards from a text list: http://store.channelfireball.com/products/multi_search Other than that I previously used MagicCardMarket.eu, but that is Europe only.

Part funsies, but I'm also interested in seeing how each card performs individually.
