This "second cube" idea you describe is exactly what I am trying to do with my Eldrazi Domain cube. It's a lot of work, but very fun work!

Well, I worked for Major League Gaming and hung out in hotel rooms playing Smash with all the big names. You can enter the ring, but I think I'll walk away with the nerd crown in this domain. Except for the fact that I'm not actually very good at Smash.

I agree with both what you and CML are saying. It's a mix of absolute power level and relative power level distributions that are at play here. Either is capable of ruining an environment. There's a whole range of "buh-roken" cards that haven't even been printed that would lead to terrible...

How would this guy work in cube? Should I just have a stack of extra eldrazi forks around for the lolz? Ulamog's Crushers and Hands of Emrakul. If people bring their own Eldrazi they can add those too.

I liked the video. I did find skipping over the Hellspark Elemental a little surprising though (end of pack 1). That guy gives you a lot of mileage out of both discard and sacrifice effects.

Eric you should do what I do when people argue for the inclusion of a card you consider weak: let people just bring the card with them (or take it from your on-deck binder) and included it in their decks without drafting them. It's what I do with the guy always pushing for Aether Vial. Somedays...
