Is there any compelling reason not to just ban two colors before you start drafting? I feel like it would be really awful to start getting invested in a draft only for your opponent to ban the color that you have the best cards in. Which would be the only logical strategy in this format. Pre-ban...
The great thing about this place is that you don't need credibility to justify or back up anything. Ideas are the only currency.

Oh, I didn't mention it in the article, but in terms of "demand percentages", hybrids perform exactly like fetchlands, and gold cards perform exactly like dual lands.
Not to mention sweet sweet interactions with cards like Coat of Arms.

Maybe it was just my deck (lowish curve) but I had Kodama's Reach and Rift Bolt and definitely preferred the bolts. Those things killed everything (including my opponents).

Yes, custom cards! I'll dig into more later, but I have long wanted a non-Mirran Crusader double-striker. I really hate the protection, and would include a straight 1WW double strike guy over Mirran Crusader in my cube.
