    CML's Cube (405, polychromatic)

Halimar Depths is awesome. We run both it and Academy Ruins, and they are consistently picked and well-liked. Can you not run both?

I like how often you convince yourself of things mid-post.

Site News Riptide Lab Road Map

I'm in favor as well. We always knew we'd hit a tipping point eventually, and there's been an explosion in activity in just the last week. We had one 24-hour period with upwards of 100 posts. As things ramp up our need for organization increases.

General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

Frozen Wasteland seems absurd. Really absurd. Recursion aside, is it better than Strip Mine? Unconditional land removal with the option to untap and use it for mana whenever you want.

    Article ChannelFireball: Dragon's Maze Review

Hi Arjan, I don't know if you saw my front-page article here: http://riptidelab.com/?p=240 Beyond that, I haven't actually tested Aetherling. I played a control deck last night where he would have been pretty terrible though, I can say that much. My finishers were Consecrated Sphinx and Angel...

    Jason Waddell's Cube

What exactly do you mean by an "interview style session"? I don't know if these articles are important enough to warrant a goon following around. At the moment I would make the following changes: 1) Don't record on weeknights. My mind is half-mush after work 2) Record in the afternoon so that I...

    Eldrazi Domain Cube

I also have one Devour creature, and I like it in theory, there just weren't many actual devour cards that I liked. Do you have any specifics that you recommend?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give them another look. I have one currently (I think), but could always use more!

    Jason Waddell's Cube

Recorded a draft tonight and I totally bombed. Apparently I can't take match notes and play draw-go control at the same time. Back to the drawing board.

The Dandy Cube (Chris Taylor's Cube)

I will check back later, but was there supposed to be more to this sentence?

It's a minor milestone, but I now have less than one-third of this board's posts (for the first time ever). Hoorah!

    [360][Modern] - Stubob's Cube

Ajani over Elspeth? Hmm... it's funny that you mention "clogged board", because that really doesn't happen in our cube. Well, it does, but it happens at the 0 - 2 table. Some people seem to draft decks that clog the board but they always seem terrible. The good decks produce punchy and swingy...

    [360][Modern] - Stubob's Cube

I think you always want a curve. What I've found from tooling with the Eldrazi Domain cube is that players (even me, the designer) want there to be variation in power level so that there are maximally say 3-4 cards in a pack that are "first pickable". You can also use the distribution of these...

    Eric Chan's Modern cube (405)

To be fair Thirst for Knowledge's instant speed is a pretty big contributor to its value. I found Night's Whisper to be pretty borderline. I ran it at 420 but not at 360. I wouldn't begrudge anyone for running it or cutting it.

Well in that case, yes, it's a pretty fun profession. I basically get paid to make sense of things and have full control over how I make sense of said things and get to spend my days thinking of fun ways to visualize and communicate results and ideas. Also, Statisticians are needed everywhere...

Oh, yeah! Didn't see that one. Mana Tithe is Cube's best counterspell.

Context: In Belgium many people use AZERTY keyboards instead of QWERTY. Tim is a student in college, and is on a lab computer while studying for his statistics exam. I'm an American statistician using my normal QWERTY keyboard. He made his particular excuse to the worst possible audience.
