General CBS

i don't think so. i used it pretty well/relatively quickly (well no not really but quickly compared to irl) in that first draft

Their downsides are just so miserable for their essentially vanilla bodies... you could get them to work, sure, but you'd have to, wait for it, WEAKEN REMOVAL! (GASP NOW)

personally i think i am to be commended for my restraint, measuredness, etc.

why does this exist

ive mentioned here before that i told my local drafters about the torch fiend / elvish mystic thing and they were deeply deeply confused

lol are mana vault and any number of other mana vault esque cards really feel that different from each other anyway?

Crypt Valut?
We'll never see their like again, but surely we'd all cube a couple more copies of grim monolith or sol ring if they could only see fit to think of new damn names for them! Then we'd just get pissed we don't have 2nd Karn or 2nd Wurmcoil. It's not like we are letting abundance of names warp our formats or anything. There is a reason we have imposed these scarcities upon ourselves.

I intend to throttle the will out of my one day children for a similar reason, it's really all I've ever known and I'm incredible defensive when it comes to criticism or change.

The logic is beyond me, but the motivation for even wanting to defend the logic is even less understandable. Absolutely nothing is literally the worst thing that can happen.

People like to fight and win. Especially magic players. If you can put yourself on a line against someone or takes the wind out of someones sails the hair goes up on ones neck and it's time to jump in toothy smirk bare.

I mean, I understand fighting for the sake of fighting, but that's not what I'm talking about. I mean, say the "anti-singleton" people "win" the "argument". What happens to the singleton cubes? Assuming those cubes were well designed and the singleton restriction was impinging on their design goals (in which case they've improved their cube, so why are they complaining?), absolutely nothing. They don't have to change a single card, it literally doesn't effect them in any way.

Suppose the singleton people "win" the argument. I suspect the end result is we all sit here feeling frustrated that other people insist on imposing arbitrary rules which do naught but harm their environments. Oh wait...

I just find it strange when people become confused and disoriented at a simple comment like 'oh, I doubled up on Faithless Looting because the effect blah blah blah... '
