General Print this Wizards! (So I can put it in my cube)

Omfg what if it scry'd 3 when it died, that sounds awesome!

Does anyone else have any thoughts on my most recent cardz?

Seer's Escort feels too much like "hey this is the White card, it goes in all the White archetypes, does your deck do White things? then it probably wants this card!"

Not that it's OP, just that it seems to be too no-brainer of an include in decks. The tokens work with anthems, but thanks to the vigilance they don't even mind being the target of single-target buffs. The card itself triggers lifegain, likes to be blinked/reanimated, and oh hey there's scry on it too just in case you need that. I might remove the "oh hey scry" or "also, lifegain!" or "and the tokens have vigilance!" aspect(s) and give it more of a focus.

Maybe up it to lose 2 life on the hulk.

Okay so you guys got me thinking about 5 drops and white spells etc so you're in for some #ExperimentalDesigns

Seer's Escort {3}{W}{W}
Creature - Human Cleric
When Seer's Escort enters the battlefield put two 2/2 white vigilant knight tokens onto the battlefield.
{T}: Scry 1 and gain 1 life.
1/1
Maybe you could make it a Soul Warden? Ooh, with spirit tokens...

Soul Tender {3}{W}{W}
Creature - Human Cleric
When Soul Tender enters the battlefield, put three 1/1 white Spirit creature tokens with flying onto the battlefield.
Whenever another creature enters the battlefield, you gain 1 life.
1/1

I would so play that :) Is this not a sweet five-drop?

Man, I kinda wish there was like a half size gristlebrand with a "activate once during your end step" or some shit on his ability

Demon Prince - 1BBB
Flying, lifelink
Pay 3 life: draw 3 cards. Activate this only once per turn and only during your end step.
3/3
Before the helvault broke, there were still voices whispering promises of wealth and power

Someone's been paying attention :p

Would it be broken at BB2? Gristlebrand is only quad black, not 6 black

I dunno, I think that the fact that it's at the end of your turn and not on demand might be restriction enough. We want people to play the thing too so 2BB might be right!

Sounds good to me. Also: Probably just wants to be a trigger, not an ability at this point. It makes him less gristlebrandy, but he looks odd at this point

Oh yeah. Didn't think of that! Good point.

At the beginning of your end step, you may pay 3 life. If you do, draw 3 cards.

Why are the delve cards way overcosted at full cost and way undercosted at minimum cost? Can't we just do reasonable stuff?

Delvegoyf - 2BG
3/4

Zombie - 1B
Delve
2/2

Courser - 3G
Delve
3/3

Regular limited mostly. Delve is one of those stupid mechanics where the average case is (unless the card is being cast on T1-2) it costs about half as much as it's printed CMC, but for constructed you have to assume it costs 0 colorless mana all the time, since that can and will happen (see treasure cruise. People played 6-7 copies in decks all for reasonable mana costs.)

Zombie is a fine if unexciting upgrade on this guy I guess?

Okay goons, I think you are underestimating the power of card-less Ancient Craving. Grisslebaby costs a million mana for a reason, so you don't get to start drawing an insane amount of cards in the middle of the game unless you work to undermine game fundamentals. Drawing 3 cards for 3 life is nuts, at least with 7 for 7 it was a significant life investment to get it rolling immediately. Jesus that card is nuts. Draw 3 every turn for 3 life? And the downside is it has to deal damage to something so you don't hurt yourself? Like even if you are losing a lot of life with this (somehow) 3 cards is a lot of agency to get you out of trouble pal. Man I wish I got to play with cards this good.

Annnnnnnnnnnnyway... Regarding my Seer's Escort, @Bootman, I think you are missing one of the main themes of that bunch of card. I'm trying to make white do more stuff and have more introspective abilities / access to card advantage and filtering. I put both the life and the scying on there because its really flavorful and I find that it's easy to get a cheap rate on many small effects than one big effect. I want white to scry more and I think it'd be really good for white too. Your card is fine but it seems more like the sort of card white gets all the time. It's a wrath that also attacks. That's fine but I'm looking for something more than a stabilizing fatty. I wish I could make the seer cheaper and smaller but I feel like you guys would be annoyed with a white card that scryed early and also traded very well.

If it cost {3}{W} and made 2 soldiers it would probably be way less interesting too. I have a lot of ideas built around the utility guy + army in a can idea, but right then I was focusing on deck and hand.

I totally dig your scryer Lucre, I even think you could push it a little further as I said, because it's a tad underwhelming when compared to Cloudgoat Ranger. Really, my army in a can Soul Warden was just a tangent that got me exited. Like, the though of an expensive Soul Warden that brings her own dudes just struck the right chord. It was inspired by your design, but not meant as an improvement over your design :D

If the vigilance is a problem for guys, maybe you could have it make a single 4/4 Angel creature token with flying instead. Same P/T, but evasion instead of vigilance, and easier to remove (because only one creature). Flavor it as a cleric getting guidance from an angel or something. Presto!

Not too sure about the bluesybaby or if the back one should be a sorc or not.

I'm pretty sure these are all too good with the "draw a card" bit left on, but are kinda sweet.

When you made the black one what sort of environment did you have in mind buddy?

I kinda like your blue one but I think I might scale it down. I'm thinking 3cc might be nice and one option might be equivalent to remand!
So yeah anyway I was thinking these would go in a really suped limited format or just for cube. The green one is easily the strongest as far as my reckoning goes, I might change the bugs to a wolf.

I also just really like the idea of a set with tonnes of charms / commands / exarchs. (or like at least one solid charm per rarity per colour).

Well the black one is like pretty bad the way you made it, I wondered where you thought it would see play. I guess it deals damage to creatures now, thats something I missed. I don't really know why you want it to be more expensive though sorcery speed cremate loses a lot of it's utility and recover is like a solid but very iffy card in a lot of formats.

I was imagining it as being pretty decent to help kill a planeswalker or creature a 2 point life swing without costing you any cards.

  • Tap target permanent, it does not untap during it's controllers next untap step.
  • Target creature cannot be blocked until end of turn? nah...

oh here are more charm dudes. Anyone have more input on my powerful charms series? Do you really think these would mess up a limited environment if they were all good and like all at uncommon? Don't you think they'd make fine less powerful cube cardz?
