Would you run these in the utility land draft?
Yes. And I might even play them. (I have an infamous hatred of ULD lands that don't have the blue mana symbol on them or "Mutavault" in the name box)
Would you run these in the utility land draft?
We just started an Icewind Dale game and are just about to leave for Kuldahar. We keep calling it Kandahar and making PTSD jokes.I really want to add Madness U to that...
Looking back at this design and with Battle for Zendikar fresh in mind, it seems obvious that this should be a landfall trigger, not a lifegain trigger. Am I right? It even fits with the art, it looks like those little dudes are exploring!
Hey folks! I'm going to place another proxy order for my cube soon (fetches and wastelands for Aoret's mana experiment) and I wanted to take the chance to get some nice-enough copies of custom cards. My cube doesn't have any customs in it at present, and only one or two Sharpie "errata", but I checked in with my regular playgroup and they're not opposed to the idea as long as it's done tastefully.
I'm pulling a few from Onderzeeboot's fantastic Khans of Alara cube - visualspoiler here - and elsewhere in this thread.
Here's a few things I'm nebulously looking for, though, so if you have any designs kicking around that sound similar I'd love to see them. I'll have about 15-20 slots for customs if I go with the
land experiment long-term and I think it's the best compromise that doesn't involve finding symmetrical cuts to make (but i'm looking to customs for a reason, so...)
creatures that interact with cards in graveyards
fun equipment (Beast Mask prob. but also other things?)
three-colour spells that feel worth being in three colours for ("Chain Reckoning", check this beautiful wrath)
disenchant effects people will maindeck
artifact and enchantment creatures
spells with Flashback, especially if they have off-colour flashbacks
"target Planeswalker"
spellbombs/baubles
playable regrowth dudes that aren't just Eternal Witness w/ funky stats
hatebears / tax effects
modal counterspells
mana dorks that tap for
literally anything that supports Goblin Welder nonpoisonously
So far this guy has been not picked, except by me. Haven't used it on my own creature yet. Pretty much just a bad fire imp so far. The counter definitely has more play to it. If need be it could lose the second ability and change stats
I like CT's Kami of the Ancient Law that hits artifacts too.
Cards that have been well accepted/successful here.
The Volcanic Hammer with Strive 1.
2/1 Golem artifact critter for 1 and phyrexian red.
The Black Firebolt that makes a tapped Zombie token instead of 2 damage has actually been cool.
I like Brass Cave and Brass Burnwillows
Glad to hear some of my cards are on the short list
Also more people need to be playing with Experiment Two
it's cool to see my customs out there in one form or another
golem (though you must've added the phyrexian mana?) and some of the cards safra linked her cube thread that i thought got linked here but i guess i was wrongWhich one's are yours? Golem? The first two I know I stole from CT

Also the art for acuity makes me die
Please don't get a high quality print of that...thing...
it took me until today to understand the obvious flavor on thawing glaciers
Receding Glacier
Land
: Add to your mana pool.
, : Look at the top card of your library. You may reveal it. If it was a land card, put it onto the battlefield tapped and return ~ to its owner’s hand.
yeah that's why i used the words "obvious flavor"I thought the flavor was fairly obvious? As the glacier thaws (i.e. retreats, i.e. returns to your hand) it reveals the land that was frozen underneath (i.e. puts a basic land onto the battlefield tapped).
Had a #badideabreakthrough soecificly concerning Chris Taylor's cube.
Strictly testbed
