It's a total bomb in Theros limited, I cut it because of that. The -X is really cool but most of the time I think it just mills them to death without much difficulty.

what could tracker have to make him not suck

i might like this if it weren't for the random "nonblack" clause also i dont know if i like ghostly prisons in cube period

Hmm... zombies are happy to just Goblin Bombardment / Jinxed Idol you to death.

Actually decent green aggro, decent stats on himself, less chances of getting blown out by removal spells?

I've never liked propaganda effects in cube. I've always found they are WAY too much tempo to be balanced.

ehhhhhh i disagree. Cube is so mana-inefficient and high-margin compared to Constructed (whatever we do) that 2/turn isn't much, a lot of the time. if your criticism is more that "they're either miserably amazing or miserably awful," though, I could see that and get on board.

Ashiok is great fun in Cube and i only cut it because i'm greedy and like to trade overvalued mythics to small children it's gold, which might not be a good enough reason for you. not to be dull but 3 cards < 10 cards

Yeah, but 5 loyalty on Turn 3 (or 2, thanks Deathrite) is pretty beefy. I'm going to slot it in at a partial slot and never roll it.

Ashiok is beefy but it doesn't pressure the opponent to do something urgently in the same way other PWs do. I think that's fun, playing against it has a different feel than playing against other PWs. It also has a high chance of doing nothing if it dies in Constructed, which makes it better in Cube (everyone has dudes). Give it a go

Ashiok also seems perfect for the partial slot thing. I like this very much for getting to run sweet gold cards. Never again will you have to choose between Huntmaster, Rampager, Bloodbraid,

NB: the other PW that grants no value if they just kill it is a little higher up the power curve

I disagree, it completely depends on what flips over. Ashi's a nightmare (hurr) for anything that isn't aggro. Sorin comes down and makes a 1/1 with lifelink? Meh, you've still got a couple turns before he REALLY does anything. Ashi comes down and mills your sweet creature? Oh god why why why kill it with fire.

I will not forget to post this today! A six that does something!

Wombo combo tappers tumble magnet

I was big on this card when it came out, but in practice it sometimes didn't really all I was hoping it would do. In rare situations, she gets tapped when she ETB and dies to her own ability. I just wasn't digging the variability on her. Not at 6 mana when I could be running so many other things.

With that said, occasionally you would drop this and it would be a one sided wrath and GG. But that doesn't happen as often as you think it does.

I also played it in standard to relatively good effect; I was on the magnet curve before it became a format staple. Figured it was an option for the plague of "Sixes that aren't titans" since so many of them are boring uninteractive unkillable valuetown guys, and plays well with a minor ability theme folks may already be playing (white and blue tappers)

absurd assessment, +'ing to defend himself is huge, the ultimate is devastating, and the emblem is really powerful. this reads like FNMers saying "bad elspeth? you mean the one that only makes one 1/1 at a time??"

ashi can be very good but is much less consistent and much less powerful, another idea we had is that it'd be better in modern cuz goyfs and bobs only cost 2, and Cube CMCs mean that it would be worse in Cube than in Standard, where it's seeing little play
