Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I don't even run coffers in my land pile and I'll run basically anything.

I think its place is definitely in the utility pile if anywhere. Its sort of a reward for drafting such an extreme deck.

Ah, but then what happens when you draw that Mutavault you picked up in the funsies draft?

Urborg is already really good, isn't it?

I think putting in the black God and Geralf's Messenger is as far as I'm willing to go in support of monoblack. I don't really want Coffers anywhere near my cube.

I just don't think Coffers offers enough upside. There's nothing that rewards you all that much for having an above average amount of black mana at your disposal

Humility is super strong. I've cubed it on and off for a long time, the main reason not to run it is its one of those cards where if you play it without something that makes it strong (anthem, token engine) it just makes the game take forever.

Basically, its like moat, but the other guy can potentially win through it.

Exactly. I love Urborg. Coffers just isn't going in any direction I'm interested in even though I LOVE Gray Merchant of Asphodel.

Am I crazy for thinking this guy might be decent?
I really wish he had 2 power. Also seems fairly likely he'll get burnt with your burn spell on the stack. Overall I'm thinking cube may not have enough burn but I guess it depends.

Don't listen to him! Run it! Suit it up with Kjeljoran Outpost, Moorland Haunt and Ephara and have fun.

Just don't sit devotion while Humility is out!

Okay, Real Talk time. So, yeah, sometimes you have two Gravecrawlers and some sac outlet and you're jizzing zombies all over the table with all the black mana you can find, but that usually isn't the game state. And if it is you tend to be winning. Urborg is great because you dedicate zero slots to it and it fixes for your Messengers and what not, but.. if you have enough pieces that you're in "use my mana to play Gravecrawler 5 times this turn" then you're usually ahead anyways.

Not to mention it requires you to have 5 pieces to even do all that and I haven't even seen another situation where it provides much. Like you can play a Grave Titan 1 turn earlier with Coffers provided you don't need to play any land other than a swamp

only two words necessary: "win more"

I like Flesh Reaver as much as the next sui black person, but can it work in cube? None of the other cards are too good, but maybe reaver can make the cut on account on being ginormous?
