This feels way more like boomerang than stone rain. Maybe it could cost 2 and be good? It's pretty narrow (unlike boomerang)

Boomerang doesn't cantrip though. I imagine , where it would be a flipped Explore of sorts, is indeed the right cost for this to be playable.

Hey man I actually like prog sphinx... more interesting than unkillable godsphinx anyways.

I kinda like that guy. 5 toughness for wildfire is sweet, and his protection ability is nice for both people most of the time (I mean doom blade being twiddle is lame, but better than it being one with nothing)

I also kinda liked sphinx of lost truths in my search for blue 5s. He ancestraled more than I expected

I'm not high on hexproof, though Prognostic Sphinx is not the worst offender I guess. Also, Doom Blade becomes Twiddle + Pain.

Unkillable godsphinx fills a very important niche in my cube like no other card does. Well, except for the card that does almost the exact same thing.

Count me as a fan of Sphinx of Lost Truths. Cards with multiple modes, where each mode is costed efficiently, are usually pretty sweet, and he gives you a big butt that works well on either offence or defence. Digging three deep and filling up your graveyard both lead to fun shenanigans, too, even if he isn't the World's Fastest Looter. But it's the versatility and options at a fair cost that make him stand out for me in cube, a lot more than he did when he was legal in Standard.

Sphinx was great in Standard! I love it in Cube too, it wouldn't make it in if you're ruthlessly power-maxing but it's such a solid card.

I completely forgot about Omen and am wholeheartedly for that card in singleton cubes or if you are doing something weird.

Isn't Ponder just better though?

In some formats (like for-instance Modern, or some sort of very odd Cube), Ponder is too powerful, and the effect you actually want is costed at more. Other cubes can't simply choose to run a second Ponder for some reason or another and are forced to scrape the bottom the barrel that is Magic's ancient history in order to replicate the effect that they want two of.

I am sure that this card must have been discussed at some stage here, but too lazy to search until after posting...
