p1p1: Stacked pack. Bitterblossom, Vendilion Clique, Deathrite Shaman, Crucible of Worlds, possibly Purphoros. Seeing as this is the free fetches cube, I pick Deathrite. It doesn't even put me in one color!
p1p2: Oh hey, two three drops! Courser of Kruphix > Herald of Torment. Hero's Downfall is an option though. Remand, Meloku, FoF, Mana Leak and Garruk Relentless are there as well. I love Courser, guess I'll pick that.
p1p3: Oh boy, Duskwatch Recruiter stares at me. Blood Artist is the only other pick I guess, but Recruiter is on color and a better signal!
p1p4: Rancor and Gift of Gaea are the green cards. Monastery Mentor is still there, but green isn't really the place for it. Wildfire is also there, but I've been drafting weenies so far. Ok, Rancor. Note: no blue (ok, one Stifle) and no black (no really, zero) cards.
p1p5: Go for the Throat is a black card though, and it's pretty insane. I dislike Turn to Log anyway, and Falkenrath Aristocrat is in the wrong colors.
p1p6: Hah, Liliana, Heretical Healer is still there. There's also Maelstrom Pulse and Mystic Snake though. Man, I looove Mystic Snake! It's also the perfect follow up to a t2 Duskwatch Recruiter! Ok, I can't resist!
p1p7: Man, multiple Turn to Logs? Ok, if I'm UG I guess it's removal...
p1p8: No blue, no green, but there's a Tasigur, the Golden Fang!
p1p9: An Overgrown Tomb wheeled. Neat!
p1p10: Experiment One or Herald of Torment? Herald is the evasive beater I guess!
p1p11: Heh. Blood Artist wheeled.
p1p12: Four red cards. I hate draft the Hero of Oxid Ridge.
p1p13: Ok, blue is sadly not going to happen, so Lim-Dûl's Vault is not going to do much I guess? I pick the Phyrexian Tower.
p1p14: Maelstrom Pulse tells me I'm in the right color pair.
p1p15: I got a spare Stormchaser Mage.

p2p1: Another Mystic Snake? Man, what a cruel world :'( My curve is low so far, so Dark Confidant looks like a good pick up. Mox Diamond however is where the degenerate openings are, so I pick the mox.
p2p2: There's a second Bloodsoaked Champion (there was one in the last pack as well), but I'm not really sure that's what I'm looking for. I'm missing the large threats to curve/ramp into so far. There's a Whisperwood Elemental and a Boon Satyr in this pack. I take the elemental.
p2p3: Vengevine or Kitchen Finks? Is it ever right to pass Finks?
p2p4: Scavenging Ooze is the only pick I really fancy. Now second-guessing picking Whisperwood Elemental, as I realize Boon Satyr has flash and can flip Duskwatch Recruiter without skipping a turn. Meh, Recruiter has an activated ability that does that anyway, right?
p2p5: Bayou or Toxic Deluge? I pick the fixing, as I don't want to blow up my own stuff and fixing is important.
p2p6: I guess Avenger of Zendikar is a legit ramp target, and good with fetches!
p2p7: Hmm... The Gitrog Monster or Boneshredder? If by now you figured out my autocarding pattern you know which one I picked ;) Anyway, I already got some solid removal, and this is an exciting monster in a fetch-heavy deck!
p2p8: Bust! Not a single on color pick available. I guess Bonfire of the Damned is the most annoying topdeck an opponent can make.
p2p9: Taiga says Bonfire of the Damned is a perfectly legit topdeck to make yourself though! With all the fetches, the Mox Diamond and the Deathrite Shaman, a single red is super easy to splash.
p2p10: Oh hai Boon Satyr! Isn't Alesha, Who Smiles at Death more valuable now that I know I'm good to splash red though?
p2p11: Merci beaucoup for the Vengevine bots!
p2p12: Manic Vandal shores up my artifact removal suite by %

p2p14: Uh, Hallowed Burial is more annoying than Black Sun's Zenith, but the latter is on color?

p3p1: Liliana of the Veil, Arlin Kord, Collected Company and Primeval Titan are staring at me. Liliana is generally the strongest of those four, and has some synergies with my deck.
p3p2: Shriekmaw, Skinrender, Vengevine (wheel that shit), Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, Lotus Cobra, Heir of Falkenrath, Myr Battlesphere, Relentless Dead... Shriekmaw is the easiest to cast and the best threat probably, but man, can I just use that Conspiracy card to take the entire pack?
p3p3: Pack Guardian is a better four drop in my deck than Damnation.
p3p4: I like incidental lifegain.
p3p5: Another pack with lots of choices. I think I like Managorger Hydra as a threat that quickly grows out of control.
p3p6: I didn't pay attention, but there isn't much in this pack, so I pick up the Gavony Township and hope a Savannah or something will miraculously wheel. Infinite Kitchen Finks sounds like a solid end game after all.
p3p7: Skinrender and Warden of the First Tree are good cards and all, but Inferno Titan is insane!
p3p8: Wow. Did you manage to make the art of Lingering Souls even more sexist than the orginal? o_O Anyway, there's a Nissa, Voice of Zendikar. Hah, plant tokens for my Avenger!
p3p9: Alight, I'll take an Arlinn Kord! (I didn't notice the double n in her name until now, huh.)
p3p10: Underground Sea is not the dual we are looking for. Mikaeus, the Unhallowed over Skinrender.
p3p11: I guess four Windswept Heaths search up a basic plains just as well, right? Ok, Athreos, God of Passage it is.
p3p12: Hahahahahaha! Take that! A glorious Savannah[c/] humbly waits for my greedy, greedy little fingers to pick it up!
p3p13: Collected Company, Flesh Carver and Cytoplast Root-Kin fight it out in a three-way brawl. I look at the +1/+1 counter synergy I picked up in this pack, and decide Root-Kin wins!
p3p14: I cruelly condemn a certain three-color card to be the ultimate pick for the person next to me and scoop up


Super fun draft, what a ridiculous collection of good cards. Should I build a 60 card deck?

I realize Mikaeus is not a good combo with Root-Kin. I think I'll put in a land instead.

There's so many ways to build, and build less greedy in particular, that it's easy to switch over to something less vulnerable to Wasteland, if need be.
I'm glad you enjoyed it that much! I really like drafting yours as well, glad I get to do so again. I think the greed is pretty well balanced out with the way you pivoted all of your duals off of green, and shored that up with the mox and the DRS. I think if you play careful with your lands and try to play around wasteland, you're probably in good shape. The Inferno Titan is the only one I wonder a little bit about, since he requires at least one of your red sources to stay in play for a turn. The payoff may very well be worth it though, dunno!

I'm curious to hear your thoughts explained a bit more. I've always felt it was exactly the removal card I wanted when I'm in green and been incredibly happy to have the card. My planeswalker count is a bit higher than yours so that may explain the differences in evaluation, but I feel like it probably needs to be a bit more than that.

Y'know, I hadn't even given it a second thought. I just browse DA until I find a cool image that reminds me of a card that I cube already, so that's where the similarity stems from. I saw this picture of some try spirits about to kill a dude who just beheaded one of their friends and it immediately reminded me of the lady ghosts in lingering souls. I worked my ass off photoshopping the image to get it down to the right amount of ghosts to make sense for the card, so I think I'm keeping it D:

Such a fun draft!!!! The Khans of Alara cube really does evoke Alara for me, which feels especially nostalgic as ARB was the set I started playing magic in.

If nothing else, the handful of us who have been doing a bunch can keep ping-ponging these back and forth. I know I need more data. I'm only just starting to see patterns emerge and I'm not sure whether I should draw strong conclusions about them yet.

Thanks a ton! :D I've been doubtful lately about whether lab man and forgotten creation are worth their inclusions. Seeing it now though I think it's totally worth spending two slots, especially in blue, to allow something like this to be possible.

The next thing I'm looking at is whether I should maybe run a few more cards that can benefit from the huge graveyard dumps. I'm wary of reanimator (the only way besides feldon of the third path to do it in my cube is Whip of Erebos unless you count doing value reanimation off of lily HH. I think six to eight mana across two turns and only having two cards to do it is effectively like having no support. I've had people sadface over losing to reanimator in the past, so maybe it is right to not include it. If I did decide to dip my toe in, I think I'd want some of the slower/worse cards from the "more fair reanimation" discussion we had once upon a time.

To be perfectly honest, I don't really know if they have a place. This deck as really a stretch to try and get lab man to work, and to be honest I don't think it really gets there.
I wouldn't mind some more self mill to make the Lab Man more viable, Loam is good but that was all I could find. The only problem is that I don't think you have many other decks that want that sort of stuff, so you would just be pidgeonholing for the Lab Man.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to leave them in fora bit longer, but I feel they are going to be wheeling a lot.

As per his request, I drafted Kirblix's older peasant cube a few times.
Thanks for all the drafts. I really need to think of where I want that cube to go. It feels a little stuck in the past. That ramp deck looks really sweet too. Looks like you got nearly everything in the cube that costs 6+.

With all that gas, cascading an Enlisted Wurm into the Fireball would make me a very sad panda.
 
Did a couple of drafts of Alfonzo's cube. First in general, really liked the drafts (although I have a question why the cube has less than 360 cards?) and the archetypes were pretty easy to recognize. The powerlevel is quite broad between creatures, but because almost everything (!) is graveyard oriented it will still be pretty useful quite a lot of the times. The fixing is very nice but it was pretty hard to come by (which I learned during the first draft of the Orzhov deck) so I tried picking it more highly on conscutive drafts.

This seems like a really fun deck. I'm not sure if the Kiki is really appopriate (nor Dark Dwellers since I don't really have very good Lightning Bolt like effects) but it has some nice targets such as said Dark Dwellens, Pia&Kiran, Phyrexian Metamorph and Abbot of Keral Keep. I would have liked to see a bit of token generators but they didn't come by this time though this seems solid.

Really cool deck with some nice synergies and a great mana base. Not sure if putting in Talrand, Sky Summoner is correct with only 8 spells to trigger it but I just enjoy that card a lot. I could have picked a bit more card draw potentially after picking up Laboratory Maniac but this is still fair I guess. It's really nice to steal a few creatures and sac them later (I should include Carrior Feeder of Course, that slipped my mind a bit when I finished the deck).

Nice little Midrange deck with some nice card quality. It's basically WB with a splash of green for Varolz and Tasigur although having both in the deck might be a bit too much (or too little in terms of cards in the graveyard). I should probably put Warden in and Genesis instead of Oust and either Varolz or Tasigur but I figured that out too late. The reason I went for less green was because of the mana base being not that great.
Overall some great, fun decks and a really nice cube that has some interesting cards that got me a lot of ideas of what I want to do with my Reanimator section (Feldon is probably sweet in my cube too).

I don't think we've had enough. I've been meaning to do another one soon, just started a new job the past couple weeks so I've got a bit less time than normal.

Anyways, I draft almost every cube that's posted, but my cube's not up, so I don't bother replying usually.
Yeah, I know how MDT feels though. I posted to gripe last week when I was the one waiting days on end for somebody to kick the ball back to me. Let's all just agree to not feel snubbed if we end up in that boat then? :p

Did you just try to change the spirit of this thread and snipe MDT's turn at being drafted? Tsk tsk :p

MDT, I barely had enough time for the last couple days to finish just enough quests in Hearthstone to get a new one each day. Sometimes we're just busy with life ;) Also, drafting CT on my iPad is a sucky experience, and I haven't booted my laptop in days!

Sorry guys for being a bit harsh in my wording yesterday. I know 2 days without posting is not a long time, and genuinely don't bother whether it's my cube of someone else's waiting but I just wanted to provoke a bit to get things rolling again. ;)
