I think the Branchwalker adding a "reduce the number of non-games" effect to a format is already a good step to reduce non-games for all, as the more of this type of effect, the more that all players will likely have these effects to help them out. I think coming close to the top of my...

Good question... I'm running the Branchwalker right now, but that's not to say I couldn't run the Explorer. I guess I don't like that Borderland Explorer is a symettrical effect, and against the wrong deck, might give your opponent more value than you get. Branchwalker being single-sided and...

    Card/Deck The Azorius Senate (WU)

Overkill imo. If the UW deck is already operating nominally, he will add an enormous amount of value for little effort. Yeah he's a good signal into that deck, but he quickly takes away the game. I want my blink effects to require slightly more input than "repeat every ETB on your field every...

    Card/Deck The Azorius Senate (WU)

Lets not ignore the known quantity that is Swans + Seismic Assault A tiny part of me wants to run Swans purely to see this happen once someday. I'm trying Migratory Route out in place of Ojutai's Command, which is just meh, and kinda stacked up alongside other similar effects. And Route is...

This fight club has re-piqued my interest in this colorful blob: gelectrode Seems like it can be a cool draw unto the color pair, and isn't useless when you aren't casting spells

vanish into memory Has played very well in the blink role while serving double duty as a component of the more-draw-discard-based suite I run. Anybody had any luck with migratory route?

    Low-Power Cube for Six

Looking good so far. The only objection I have is probably to Eternal Witness, which is as close to cube staple as a card can get, I feel. Can maybe see one of the 3 mana +1/+1 counter lords going for ewit to stay. Deck you drafted was nice, Living Death probably isn't ideal in it, but sweet...

    Low-Power Cube for Six

poison principle largely relates to things that work only in an extremely tight context: Infect, storm, isolated tribal, etc. What you call a wide power band isn't super important. What is important is that you're correct in what will potentially happen. Cards far above the power level will warp...

Neat idea for a thread. The first thing that comes to mind, since you mention FTK, is the 'cooler' FTK that rewards more planning in deck construction to max it's value heart-piercer manticore

    Low-Power Cube for Six

Hello and welcome to posting :) . An entire new cube is quite a bit to unpack. Overall it looks like a great format if you are willing to grind out some of the rough spots. I'd imagine it'd play fine as is, with plenty of room for growth. Focusing in on one of your concerns, the GW...

I think I more or less agree with xyz's past and current analyses of those cards. Right now, I think my favorite "Big green cool enchantment" is sandwurm convergence Solid to ramp into, solid in slower, engine-y decks that value the attacker disruption. Cool card that I could definitely see running.

Can I turn this pile of cards into a cube?

I don't think it's overall helped slow decks vs. fast decks in my format. They are monocolor etb tapped lands, which can give the aggro deck some opportunity while the slower deck sets up. My aggro decks also are generally hyper aggro either. I don't have a ULD, so can't speak to that. I could...

I run this cycle: secluded steppe I think like 4 or 5 of each? Don't exactly remember how many. But around that many has been plenty enough for everyone so far.

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

Hazoret is a very good card, but doesn't seem great for this Archetype. She is a great aggressive card, but this archetype doesn't really want that. She can't control the board, and she can't block until you are hellbent, so she is going to be taking a turn that might otherwise be used to...

Deluge is definitely the better card in a vacuum, but if you are trying to specifically help control against specifically aggro, Drown is probably better. It hits a large majority of creatures in a classic aggro deck while preserving your life total and digging to further answers etc. Black...

Can I turn this pile of cards into a cube?

I run 54 fixing lands or so at 400, so I don't think you need to go quite that high. But I do notice that several of your lands are not fixing lands, so your effective fixing count is lower, at 38/360, or 10.5%. I'd say at least 45/360 fixing lands would be a refreshing boost to fixing count. 48...
