My thought is that if you can have a steady stream of creatures going (and who can't, really?) this means each dude you draw is another dead guy on their side.

Regardless of weather it's priced appropriately or not, that doesn't seem too fun to play against.

You mean it turns every creature you draw into a Typhoid Rats, as long as your 2/2 for 2BG remains alive. I don't know, might not be fun to play against maybe, but evasion works. It's also a decision for the caster, do I evoke or not?

why not just make it be a 0/0 with 2 counters

I don't know where you guys do your custom card images but can somebody make this into a 3/2 Bird Zombie?
 
If I do it, It'll look way worse, I'll leave this to the professionals.

Well Jason-Chan, lets take a look at our options for white library matters cards.

First of all, what does white usually get to do in terms of getting more actual cards or searching:

  • It can search for small dudes or tribal dudes
  • It can search for auras and equipment
  • It can search for plains or sometimes under special circumstances it gets to look for any land
The ways it tends to get extra cards that have nothing to do with your library tend to involve

  • Making token dorks
  • Armywide Bonuses
  • The odd cantrip
  • Damage redirection
  • Wraths and killing creatures that have been committed
  • Oddly proactively negating cards, like banning them or stopping search or removing abilities
  • Sometimes it gets to reanimate specific shit
White also seems fairly proficient at stopping untaps, searching the library and scrying


So I figure the top list is probably the most reasonable for Courser of Kruphix or Future Sight style abilities. Abilities that care about those types of cards and then you get to do something fun when it comes up. But that's sort of shallow right?

The 2nd list could be bonuses it gets from the top of it's library for some reason or another, and since tapping, untapping, shuffling and scrying are all white abilities, it seems not unreasonable that it could be the enabler for these sorts of strategies, rather then the beneficiary. Say it does a lot of enlightened tutoring?

Some ideas:

Royal Herald {1}{W}
Creature - Human Soldier
When Royal Herald enters the battlefield, reveal the top card of your library, if it is a creature card put a 1/1 white soldier creature token into play, if not you may put that card on the bottom of your library.

At the beginning of your upkeep you may shuffle your library.

Creature - Human Artificer

Play with the top card of your library revealed you may pay {1}{W} to put any Equipment or Aura card from the top of your library into play without paying it's mana cost (legal targets allowing).

When Favored Warrior enters the battlefield search your library for an artifact or enchantment card, reveal it and put it on top of your library.

Play with the top card of your library revealed, as long as it is an Artifact or Enchantment card creatures you control get +1/+1.
When Might of Arms enters the battlefield put 2 1/1 white soldier creature tokens into play.

Creature - Human Soldier
When Famous General enters the battlefield search your library for a white creature and put it on top of your library.
Play with the top card of your library revealed, you may play creatures on top of your library as if they were in your hand.

Some of these are kinda busto but I'm sure you're all capable of using these ideas in whatever way you see fit.
 
would there be people interested in teaming up on a longer term group mostly/entirely custom cube project

hopefully we can not be as convolutedly awful as some other attempts at that
 
I love custom cards, but I believe in finding a thesis first then building to an ideal.

and uhh....
idk, they seem fine? none of them tickle my "oh man this is really cool" bone but none of them are offensive. well ancient sage is similar to an idea i had but what the hell 1 mana? ah fuck it let it be broken
angelic curator can't be a 4 drop, it is too strong for that
 
It does feel significantly worse than adarkar valkyr.

So okay, you must know, I'm pretty bull headed and peevish and domineering. Also most of my ideas are insane. I'm not sure I'm the sort of person you want on this kinda team.

I'm pretty good at being totally enthusiastic about a project like that, and then go "Ooh! Shiny!" at something else a month later. I'm up for submitting and reviewing ideas though as time permits and attention doesn't wane ;)
