Art fits nicely with the concept, there's (brackish?) water, trees, mountains. The flavor text tickles me as well, because nature hides... in your opponent's hand. Ha! Right, tooting my own horn here. Anyway, I see no reason not to try this out in my ULD when drafting at the end of this month. I run 2 Ghost Quarter and 2 Tectonic Edge, but they hardly ever get picked up. Though Ghost Quarter was the play that prevented me from killing my opponent's Knight of the Reliquary last time! Anyway, this should allow your opponent to not be mana or color screwed, but still gives aggro decks the initiative because that fourth mana will take a turn longer to assemble!

I think that is a perfectly designed card. Still card advantage for the opponent, but not nearly as meh as Ghost Quarter. The idea of putting it on the top of the library would make it a 1 for 1, but I like it as is.

Why does blue have all the fun? Everyone gets to have fun!

* shuffle that card into your deck, then draw a card.

No good idea for a black one. Probably a weak tutor? Maybe it only tutors cards that say "sacrifice" on them?

Edit: I regret my formatting experiment

So if I'm reading that right, this is dismember, but instead of -5/-5, it's destroy target nonland permanent?
I don't think it works, since you declare targets and then pay costs, so it'd target "nothing", and you wouldn't be able to switch it's target because it was already on the stack. Probably works better as a pile of different kicker costs.

Yeah it's probably several kinds of illegal, but I liked the plain language for the bear token Lucre made, so the card follows the "does what you think it does" rules, not the MtG comprehensive rules.

Just was thinkin about a swiss-army-backup-plan way to deal with the Story Circle vs RDW that someone was talking about.

Okay hahaha, yes it's maybe not the greatest card, I'm throwing ideas at your faces to see what sticks. I have a lot to learn.

I'm far more excited / interested in feedback on the phyrexian-mana cards that allow non-blue decks to participate in the Brainstorm mini-game that people on here love so much. Any thoughts on those?

My basic train of thought right now is that, there are some effects which are so rich with cool decisions (quick thinking / fetch land), that they should be phyrexianized so that everyone can play with them. Or that there are GRBS enchantments like Citadel Siege and maybe it would be cool if any deck had the option to pay 4 life 1 mana and a card to ensure that the evil nasty GRBS gets destroyeded. But yeah Ploom is a little hokey.

Ploom would probably work best as a Who/Where/What/Why/How style card. It might be possible with kicker? Is the intention that you can pay more than one of the costs? It looks like it isn't.

^ The Wasteland custom that puts a basic into the victim's hand.
Some test games against the AI convinced me to add these to the main cube. They play really well. One opponent was aggroing me out, and I had a plan devised for the next few turns that involved sequencing out a nonbasic on turn 2, which promptly got destroyed on his turn 3. Suddenly my Languish took a turn longer, but I still got the chance to cast it! Brilliant! No feel bads, just a puzzle of "ok, now how am I going to survive until I can cast the sweeper?"

I removed Cursed Scroll, two Wayfarer's Baubles (the last "mana rocks" under three mana), and an AEther Searcher. Think I should keep Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge in my ULD?

That doesn't seem overpowered at all when you can't get 8 people together for the draft and have to make do with 4! :p
