Sets Shadows over Innistrad Spoilers Thread

Not much has been spoiled thus far, but limited seems pretty strong for triple SOI, especially when you can go T2 Heir of Falkenrath, T3 Incorrigable Youths, swing for 7. Geralf's masterpiece might end up in the bulk mythic bin once all is said and done (it looks neat, but doesn't scream power), but it's too early to tell.

Most definitely bulk but that's usually where you find the fun stuff!

Got to thinking about Geralf's Masterpiece, and it seems like the perfect partnership with a card that seems to be downplayed quite a bit around here:

For double-sided cards, I put the real card into the cube, and print a proxy of the back-side and sleeve that up along with all of my tokens (which are in differently coloured sleeves). So when a Delver of Secrets or Garruk Relentless flips, people can just grab the 'token' and overlay that on top of their card.

I think this is Kirblinx's option #2, but I'm not sure based on his wording.

Goodness, that card is exciting! I need to find room in my cube for it now. I LOVE how it fits into both black aggro and graveyard recursion- a 2/2 menace for 2... isn't actually that bad. I feel like the menace bit will be downplayed in light of it's more exciting abilities, but this guy seems genuinely good as an aggressive card.

My first thought with Geralf's Masterpiece was recursion with draw sevens and other symmetrical draw effects like Memory Jar. But when that's the 'abuse' case for the card, it's probably just not at the power level I want.

Noooooo, why did it have to be BB?

It's really powerful. Do you run another BB 2 drop?
Edit: Doesn't look like it, so long as your cubetutor is current :p
CC cards aren't horrible and unplayable, they're just harder to cast. Remember, the reason we advise against them is because in cube of days past amateur hour, you'd have white sections with 2 cards that weren't {W}{W}, so it was advice that beared repeating.
Mana is better now, and cubes have less of a problem finding C1 playables. You'll be fine :)

Also, I do want to caution everyone about our new black delver friend:

Sure Cloud Manta is better than hill giant, and you can discard creatures to Hier, but do keep in mind how horrible this is if you discarded a card without madness or flashback, and it gets killed.
This thing requires work, and we should really keep that in mind :p

I would cube the shit out of Drekavac if it let me discard the card next turn when I have mana open to protect it and could discard creatures to actually fuel reanimator. Doesn't even need the evasion at that point. It could be a 3/1. Heir really does overcome the slew of drawbacks that were holding Drekavac back. I still run Oona's Prowler and this is going to be redundancy with that now if anything.

Reanimator is another way to get value out of discarding a card :p
I'm just making sure we all know this card has synergy based power, it's not just this sweet 2 drop you jam in any deck or environment and feel great about. 3/2 fliers tend to overwhelm people's sensibilities :p

Oh, I know, but I still quite heavily support 3-color decks, so a CC drop is actually a real pain.

Speaking of delver...

I like that the chain continues, that is cute. Genuine question, would Delver be more interesting with this trigger or the current one? Both enable shenanigans, but different types of shenanigans.
