failing lightning bolt test is pretty lame for a 4 mana walker

edit:
disclaimer im not saying this is a bad card because planeswalkers

kiora's starting loyalty of 2 doesn't really matter all that much. yes she fails the bolt test, but UG is an on-board strong color combination, often with some early acceleration/blockers and cheap countermagic. biased though, because i love playing blue/green and i've been waiting for this 'walker since 2008.

the real question here is "two foils or a foil and a nonfoil ?"

Going minus/minus gives you some effect that could be as little as divination or as much as explosive vegetation, so I would say that this is not value by itself as no one is really playing those cards and they don't cost {2}{U}{G}. The plus ability on this card needs to be relevant or its terrible.

i was hoping kiora would have some variant of temporal spring as a minus but i guess i cant have everything

I would definitely not prefer urban evolution. The card has some severe limitations but it does cost 4 and can either play defense or draw/ramp. Plus/plus/plus into ultimate is a big problem for threat light decks and when the plus isn't useful it can still play as a shitty version of little Jace and sometimes its an explosive vegetation if you have the right hand to want that effect. Its a compromised design and I think tight cubes will pass on it for the more focused effects, but it is certainly cubable for a lot of people.

That card is totes in my pez list, but it supports UG Storm and UG/X Control.
I also love temporal spring, but I really wish urban evolution was an instant or read

Urban Evolution {2}{U}{G}
Instant (U)
Draw two cards then you may put a land card from your hand into play tapped.

demigod, bring back my other two demigods, swing for 15. slowly you show your opponent your last card in hand. fanatic of mogis.

alas: any opinions on dinrova horror ? it's a recoil stapled to a 4/4 body for only 6 mana. does that mean it's good though ?

Not good. Sure, you get a "cost reduction" if you consider a 4/4 a 4-mana effect and Recoil a 3-mana effect, but neither of those are really lighting up cubes. Seems like a waste of a gold card in my opinion.

I was talking to Eric one day about how I thought dinrova was totally a card worth trying if they had cut one colourless off it's cost or had added just a little more value.
I think it's just for Peasant sadly.

I like the demigod idea. Will the Born of Da Gods Demigods be the same formula? I hope so!

"the great deity type update"

last night a friend in town brought four vintage copies of the duelist he'd found in his old room, a page of which we then used to roll and smoke a giant doobie. any opinions on this? (I guess it also adds two red devotion)

It's like a crappy snapcaster mage (crapcaster?) with flashback and no body. And no instants... But if you want to wrath for days...
