Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

yeah i was considering saying something but then decided fsr was talking about a typical reasonable cube environment

I still think it's a perfectly serviceable card in a reasonable cube environment. Could make mono-u draw go a thing

Yes, it costs four and we have Kiora in the next set, but U/G has no good cards anyway so maybe this is worth trying?

UG has lots of good cards but they all cost 3. I am running Horizon Chimera currently, mostly for the lifegain, but maybe it's serviceable. I really wish it had 3 toughness so that it could conceivably flash-block something that isn't Augur of Bolas.

Conspire seems a bit weak unless you have a lot of tokens?

I've been thinking about some cards:

Fair tinker target?

Black artifact hate?

Also, color pie madness?

And I kind of like this card:

The problem with Colossus is that it's so atrocious if you don't Tinker it, which makes it narrow. And it's not really a strong incentive to even play a Tinker deck.
I could always make a new cube, with the theme "big risk no reward" Looking at other 7+power targets which could be intriguing, none really strike me as interesting. T2 Lightning Greaves, T3 Colossus could be amusing once or twice I guess. Bah on you tinker, bah.

i run that card too, it might be too good

Coiling Oracle is good. It's ability is better than drawing a card. And he's an elf. What's not to like? He's a better (albeit harder to cast) Elvish Visionary (a card I run).

I'd run Coiling Oracle too if I had room, even with the cost (something I feel like green can easily navigate anyway).

How do we make coiling oracle and the other vaguely advantageous things green does better?
  • I guess we could scry more or whatever.
  • We could have more ways to eat lands or doorknobs to do more interesting shit.
  • I really like the idea of equiping them and making them more terrifying. Eric's Overrun theme seems to kinda do that too. It's too bad the swords don't actually cost green mana. Wouldn't that be kinda interesting?
