Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I look at Elvish Visionary, then I look at Baleful Strix does the difference in casting cost restriction really justify this large a gap in power level?

Either way, having both in the same cube feels somehow wrong. I'm running the Strix, but I really have reservations about the card an its complete non-commital nature, but Black/Blue (in spite of its recent strixless 3-0 deck) is pretty unpopular, so I'm living with it for now.

Rotates in and out of my cube. There are enough ways to get more value out of visionary that I never really mind having it around.

i like it. it's great in stuff like pod and most green decks have a vague dispassionate interest in it. while the draw a card thread is doing its thing i have added coiling oracle, baleful strix, this guy, and wall of omens and am greatly overjoyed to draw some cards

Green has a lot of ways to put a random 1/1 body to use, AND typically has fewer ways to see extra cards than blue or black in most cubes; UB wouldn't even care about Strix if it wasn't so pushed, whereas most green decks like having Visionary.

My problem with Visionary is that it's one of those cards I rarely feel like I want in my final 40. I agree it has value, but when you're making cuts and have to trim a 2-drop...

Im on a bit of a low with fauna shaman at the moment, trying to restrict the number of green creature searchers, but maybe i should slot it back in. Ooze is obvs good and i can take or leave the mayor.

Mayor is a human tribe support card in a third color, therefore I love it. If they ever print human support in red it's an easy cut. Hmm... Remind me to design a red human lord when I get around to printing custom nonland cards for my cube!

Who runs a cube with so few 2-drops they can't be trimmed?

EVERY ONE OF US

beating for 1 is also an underrated skill. seriously playing wall of omens against control always pissed me off because if you play something that attacks for 1 maybe if the game goes long it did 5 to them and it matters

I thought you might be referencing that song, which I am quite familiar with, but I still don't really see the connection.
