    Sigh, a Cube

I think a sigh is more of a reflexive body action than a specific emotion, like yawning. I think it fits perfectly to think of sighs in a happy context, ie. Contentment, relaxation, satisfaction, plain ol' happiness. Re: red draft number, I think it's either luck like you said, or its a pretty...

    Sigh, a Cube

Round two of what has turned into a sort of renaissance for my cube is the absolute pile of drafting that's happened in the past two weeks or so. Super shoutouts to everyone who put time and effort in to bash away at my format. Got drafts in from Genericco Alfonzo Bonzo Suicufnoc Ward - not...

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

first off. you guys already won, jesus christ. The card's getting tested. 2. I only mention goggles to evoke the go big burn-beatdown deck. I'll make sure to be more careful next time. This is {G}{R} archetype development time still, right? I just thought it was fitting cuz of that.... 3...

safety valves maybe? declaration in stone bile blight izzet staticaster? ooo! darkblast plays really cool with these little dudes, trying to keep theirs off the board, and filling your yard up with more of your own.

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

Don't get me wrong, I love the card. I've also played it in both EDH and made a cool Zendikar Resurgent/Warp World/The Great Aurora "combo" deck in the reject rare cube. It was durdly there. It's durdly in EDH, the durdliest of formats. And it, as a card, is almost undeniably "durdly" just by...

    General Fight Club

Part of the reason behind the probe, yes. Maybe it is just that playing like genesis is better because it still synergizes with "creatures in yard" but also isn't horrific on WCS. Actually, now that I think of it... genesis v. spider spawning (both are in mono-G in my cube, at least) I like...

    General Fight Club

I do love worm harvest quite a lot. I do like how well it meshes with the lands-in-my-hand-matter angle that green can take. In this way Reach also synergizes with that angle. But spawning works with "running creatures in my deck that might die", so green's ok with that too lol.

    General Fight Club

I love how you split up your four cents for easy viewing :). A very solid case! I'll note that it can take 12 mana in 2 colors to make SS very worthwhile, GY depending, but I definitely see the point. I always found it very weird how Reach tokens don't even have.... reach?

    General Fight Club

reach of branches v. spider spawning Edit: I do cheat a lil by having spawning in the mono {G} section.... I'm leaning towards Reach, cuz its 1) cool, 2) synergizes with long-game {G} based around extra/consistent lands as a resource. What are people feeling about Spawning nowadays?

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

So I've had a little time to see a tidal wave of CubeTutor drafts wash over my cube, and to get a five-man draft down IRL. Two main victories from this past two weeks or so: The RUG Gifts combo-control deck works. It'll probably come together once or twice annually, but it works. My thread has...

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

Also a legitimate concern! I haven't seen it so consistently abused in my own cube, but I guess Moments Peace has a more stable ACS? In the end, neither card affects the board. Its for this reason, and I guess potential overpower reasons, I like Pulse of Murasa. It actively works to rebuy...

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

It does do all of that. It's definitely better than Pulse of Murasa in some ways. For that reason, I appended Gnaw to the Bone, which can buy you more than 2 turns, and has more interesting interactivity than Peace. Edit: and I'm definitely not trying to rule Peace out. Gnaw to the Bone is in...

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

Loving all the poking into nooks and crannies for what cards this archetype wants to be looking for. :) I think it's important to continually ask "what does this deck really need to be doing?", once that question finds answers the cards become clearer. Looking now in the direction of "The...

Trample is a "you may" ability, so sadly nope. They'll just assign all damage to the devil as a vanilla creature would.

They can assign all damage from their attacker to one devil, so you only get only damage trigger.

    [Design/Discussion] The Spiral

Even the humblest of improvements can require radical restructuring of the way you come at them. This is true in the design of real world objects, and certainly true in conceptual design. Yeah, its a little bit let-downish when you consider it. I like that this thread is really trying to...

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

I like the talk about Zendikar Resurgent and co! Its an angle that I didn't really think much on until now, tbh. I think the way to make the effect feel a little less durdly is to attach a body. The two options that are really attracting me so far: soul of the harvestprimordial sage You can...

    Card/Deck Single Card Spotlight

I love this discussion every time it comes back this forum. :) First off, Treasure Cruise is definitely the stronger spell of the two overall, imo. UU matters an amazing amount the time, and 3 cards can matter much more than 2 a decent percentage of the time. Also, drawing lands is usually...

    [Design/Discussion] The Spiral

I think this is pretty much spot on. The general idea of "Narrow build arounds can actually reduce format depth" is embodied in the poison principle. Love Pack guardian, card is deep as the ocean. Love this discussion too. There is a lot that directly relates to what I've been working on...

Card/Deck Start your Engines: A Temur Card Advantage Deck

I think it's hard to exactly quantify what the deck "is". I know I'd be super happy seeing a deck like that pop up :). I think in general the goal is to create a new axis for GR to operate on, that focuses on card advantage and inevitability over raw mana superiority and power of fire. There...
