In the 'GW hatebears' category I think I prefer in almost all situations (especially now with Theros block)

Whatever, we're talking about it here. Teeg wheels exclusively to the GW little kid player. Nobody goes into the colors for the card. But then sometimes is just creates these fun Magical puzzle gamestates where the other player has to figure out how to maneuver without using the 4 CMC cards. Then again it also gets cut from a lot of decks because "lol 2-drops". With QPM and Voice of Resurgence I think it's impossible to make a "power max" argument for it, but I think it's a very interesting card at a power level that's not embarassing (if not exciting) for our cubes.

C'mon, you should know FSR by now. He's a straight shooter, and not one prone to sarcasm.

I actually took out Qasali Pridemage for a while, and only slotted him back in after adding the latest batch of Journey into Nyx cards.

I think I ran Teeg for a good year or so, but he was mostly ineffectual. With cube curves as low as they are these days - we all have an average cmc under 3, right? - I don't think he's aging particularly well.

QPM is a really good card, but if you aren't rocking "must kill" artifacts/enchantments I think you can drop him (IMO, the trend of running this guy and dudes like him "no matter what" is really just a lingering mindset from the powermax cube template - where you have to run basically all enchantment/artifact destruction on a stick regardless of whether it sucks or not because answers to those cards are more important than running quality dudes due to the warping nature of many of them).

I keep him around mainly because he also grants exalted, which is a really wonderful ability (especially with double strike dudes). If he didn't have that, I would not waste a gold slot on him anymore.

I wasn't really excited about this until tonight. I just went my first JOU draft (since I had some serious magic apathy for a few months), and one of my opponents used it. It was super cool! What do you guys think?

needs the good ol anotak treatment (buffing imo)

i feel the same way about teeg, nobody really played him over here, but i guess he'd be better with more wraths. maybe add in a second Green Sun's Zenith again to find him and QPM and the new Naturalize piker.

Neat green cards are probably made, then neutered over and over again into near-uselessness. I've been Theros block drafting a few times in the last couple weeks and the number of times nessian wilds ravager and heroes' bane were absolutely massive but just could not connect and that loses the game was absurd.

Any number of things could make mushroom man at least kind of playable. Trample, coming in untapped, hell even coming in tapped at the beginning of the NEXT upkeep would be better than this nonsense. yeesh.

the thing is, when they connect, it's even worse for the game. ergo making giant dumb dudes like that is likely just bad design

I don't see how a green fatty that can connect through a 1/1 is so bad compared to the flying finishers literally every other color gets. I'd much rather have a 5/5 or even 4/4 flier than a 7/7 nothing on the ground quite often. Maybe in the mythical world of old magic, where creatures took back seat to spells, green's fat was much more relevant, but I don't think green should get dumped on just because a 7/x ends the game one turn faster than a 5/x in a vacuum.
